" Ferdinand, who grew up in Peckham, south-east London, was capped by England 81 times and has also played for West Ham United and Leeds United.
It did start by saying he was a qpr and ex United player though ;)

Thoughts are with Rio and his family, especially the kiddies. :(

It certainly explains why he hasn't been in the squad for the last month or so. I think it was said at one point that it was because of illness.

Those poor kids and Rio.

Not the biggest rio fan but it's a truly awful situation.

Pretty much my feelings.

Has to be said he has had a fair bit of abuse from QPR fans this season who are now feeling somewhat bad, and in view of what he must have been gone through has handled himself admirably.

Always terribly sad when you read about this sort of death for anyone but especially with such a young family and being so young herself.

It's starting to look very ropey for Newcastle

They are sinking......I saw Carver was complaining about the abuse he got when he was in the dugout recently - he better hope they erect some sound proof walls!

'Rogers Out - Rafa In' aeroplane banner heading for Anfield ;)

Rafa could be a good shout for Newcastle.

Got to give it to Bournmouth, what a story that is.....One manager, League 2 -> Premier League, some players from the L2 days still there as well.

Burnley & QPR to go down, but who'll be with them ? Leicester & Villa the form sides at the bottom, Sunderland have a game in hand, but they have a tight run in - Arsenal & Chelsea their last 2 games

Sad news for the Ferdinand family.

Well done Bournemouth, up as Champions. It really is a story that gives all teams outside the Premier League hope. They said on Football Focus that their team cost about £8.5m, and that is with one of the players costing £3m. :jawdrop: They should have sell outs at every game with only having 12k capacity.

John Carver made some fruity comments about one of his players who got sent off, and the whole of team, minus Jack Colback. ;) I suppose it just gets to a point where you can't gloss over the problems, especially if you have grown up as a fan and don't feel all the players are giving 100%.

I think the banner held up at the game, “We don't demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries” was a message for the owner and now the players.

As for the "Rodgers Our, Rafa In" banner on the plane. ****heads. People are quick to forget how bad Liverpool were playing, and how predictable they were when he left. And I know it's a common theme, but how many poor players he bought too. He is a very good manager, but he had his time at Liverpool.

I personally think Rodgers is the right man for the job. The end of next season could be a decisive depending on how next season goes.

Benitez is a control freak, and that is not someone suited to the Newcastle job. I wouldn't touch the Newcastle job with a barge pole given the owner. Their fans loyalty for many decades deserve more though.

Must agree, a real poison chalice. The only manager they will find is one who is desperate, and we all know what that will result in.

Well, that's an annoying result!

True. Makes the next three games more interesting. Also how much possession did utd have. Possession is 9/10ths and all that but criminal finishing!

I only really paid attention to the last 30 minutes (watching a dodgy stream) but it looked again as if United had all the possession, but nothing to break the defence down.

If you want criminal finishing, wait to you see the one the '£50m' Sterling missed for Liverpool. ;)

Great result for West Brom. Lots of stats re-written in that game apparently, as they kept on repeating in the commentary.

Anybody else disappointed with Henry as a pundit. Liked him on BBC. he's a bit pants on sky.....IMHO

The stats guys have loved post Fergie United!

Given the way United are playing and looking at the teams that will be in Champions League qualifying round they had to be fighting for top 3.

Having finally pulled their finger out - United now seem to be doing their best to chuck it all away. Top 4 could be tricky now.

Still think Utd would have to go to pieces to not quality for Europe. But there's no harm in dreaming :D

I still think it's open

United are 4 points clear of Liverpool but with goal difference you could call it 5

If Spurs were to beat City tomorrow then Spurs are only 3 behind (call it 4 for goal difference) but that would mean no points for City.

All games are going to be tough but for the top 4 a lot hinges on the 'six pointers' - Spurs v City & United v Arsenal.

Chelsea v Liverpool still to come but I wouldn't class that as a six pointer.

Can't believe what's going on down here in Bournemouth, it's a fairytale come true. So pleased for the club, the players, manager and the fans. Think the least I can do on Monday is step out the house for the open top parade.

Happy days indeed, but I'm not going to jump on the Bournemouth bandwagon like most people round here, all of a sudden everyone I talk to have been life long cherry fans lol .

Pleased for the club and great for the town but I know who I'll be cheering for next season when The Arsenal come to town.

Why, having just won the Premiership, did JM look and come across like a man who's just been shown the door?
Serious question...he's usually cockier than that.

Just his arrogant manner, I'm sure it's all for the camera. Personally I can't stand the bloke. How can a football manger win the Premier League and in the interview respond as it was just another game. Special one? Like to see him win the league with a club that doesn't have the spending power of Che€sea or Real Madrid

But many managers do end up at clubs with loads of money and fail, great manager.

Very true many do fail, the difference is they are not as arrogant and don't believe in their own hype. Never said he wasn't a good manager, just like to see him go to Hull Everton or Sunderland and let's see how special he really is.

Would like to see wenger do the same, but think he would struggle to inspire and motivate.

He was playing it down that's all.

Can't blame him really. Call it cocky but he's known for ages that the title was his.

As for splashing the cash - Chelsea are behind Arsenal, Liverpool, United and City of late.

His overly humble interview was a bit cringe worthy though.

Remember that it's not just transfer fees, but wages. That's why Liverpool haven't bought any established stars - they admirably, but misguidedly refuse to pay the going rate in wages.

Many possible reasons. Two trips to his sick father's bedside in Portugal during the week. Thinking about Ramires in hospital who he visited shortly after leaving the stadium. The need to leave early to sit through an interview at home with BT Sport :spit: And, of course, celebrations can be significantly different when winning by thirteen points with three games in hand compared to a last ditch, last match struggle over the line.
