So QPR go out with a bang in almost the worst possible way. Can't say I'm sorry to see them go. They seemed to have done everything wrong for many years. It is always the fans who suffer sadly, certainly not the players from the looks of it.

It needs a strong character to go in and sort that mess out, but then I thought Redknapp would have been able to do it. but when they players are locked into such lucrative contracts, the hands are tied to some degree. Redknapp left a mess at the worst possible time, and needs to take a lot of the blame for this relegation along with the players.

There is a long list of things wrong but I'm not sure there is enough capacity on the TP servers to detail them all!

I'm quite looking forward the to the Championship, though I expect we may struggle. I've not been to a game this season for the first time since the mid-80s, but Ill probably start going again next season and may start taking my son though I'm not sure if that constitutes some form of torture require intervention from social services.... I'd almost be happy if we got a huge fine, relegated a few divisions and had to almost start again. I don't really care who we play, you can have a good rivalry at whatever level you play at - we had this in League 1 not that long ago.

Whilst I don't overly care how other supporters see us, I think we historically were a team people liked or did not mind, now we are fairly universally disliked, and that's from people who have not had to endure the last few years of PR chatter from Redknapp and Fernandes, never the actual team displays. I honestly not sure how we could have been run in a worse fashion, but the verbal diarrhoea from our comedy duo accompanying it has been excruciating in the extreme and has turned many fans away.

Stan Collymore has been very outspoken on Talksport both during and after the City game.

I've actually got a lot of time for Collymore as a pundit and he's been very supportive of Chris Ramsey.

Can't find the quotes but listening to the match he said he just wanted the whistle to go because he felt for Ramsey but wanted it to go on for another hour because 'certain' players (he named) need to suffer.

Ramsay comes across as a likeable person and has been a breath of fresh air compared to Redknapp. He has good qualifications as a coach, and despite our results we are meant to have been playing better. Results though, clearly have not been good enough.

I'm nervous we'll appoint him without due consideration to what we want from a manager. Personally I'd interview candidates, if we thought he was the most suitable so be it. Are we going to invest in youth, buy lower league, keep splashing the cash etc basically what will out club ethos around this be. We should then build a team around that. Sadly all we will get is a populist appointment from our chairman, probably based on his twitter feedback, and then further prolonged announcements about a new stadium we don't need, training facilities that won't materialise and lots of keep believing, we care, we are learning (again) blah blah blah.

Personally I think we would be better off with someone with Championship or Lower League experience, but I wait to see who our 'dream manager' will be. I'd like to keep Ramsay as a coach but it will be hard for him to do that.

Wenger OUT!

LOL

Still think the Gooners are nailed on for 3rd.

4 points required from: United A, Sunderland H, WBA H ????

10 years since Wenger finished higher - surely that's progress ;)

Talk about a smash and grab by us. I was just waiting for the Gunners to score in the second half, to me, it was just waiting for when! Beat Man City sunday and Southampton slip up and we have another chance of Europe, although Monk has more or less said locally he doesn't want it. It was a big strain for us when Laudrup was here as we don't have the strength in depth.

Monk has also stated we need to spend big on a striker after Bony going, but European football can help to sway it for some players, being interesting to see who we sign in the summer.

"Q" When do your clubs ask for season ticket renewals to be paid by? We are by the end of March, but this year I was knocked back on finance after previously having it, so had to dip into my lens fund to pay for next seasons tickets. I could understand the club asking for March renewals in our first season to keep bums on seats in-case of relegation, but I feel we're established now and season ticket money for a club our size is small fry compared to the Sky money.

And that win means that Hull are probably gone too, with Spurs and Man Utd in their last two games. QPR are dead and buried too, so I think that's all the fun over until next season.

If I was a betting man, id put money on Hull beating Spurs. They will be fighting for their lives (with a few ex Spurs in their side also), and Spurs have already gone on their holidays by the looks of things. Oh well...theres always next year. Just hope we dont qualify for the Europa (y)

Out of interest, what are they charging down there Simon?

Long time since I had a season ticket at Old Trafford but they're £530 - £920 adults & £250 - £380 for kids now. Your also automatically allocated and required to buy tickets for home games in the FA and League Cup.

Hi Phil,

£490.00 per season, which for the Prem is probably not too bad, but as you know it's not the most affluent area. We have about 16500 ST holders as we hold 2K back for general sale and 2k for away support. There was a reported 5-10k waiting list for seats and I'm suprised they haven't upgraded the ground yet. All they seem to be doing is survey's, I have completed about 6 now. If you can get a ticket for match day, they are £45 for cat A games and £35 for everyone else. You also have to be a member, which I think is £25 to go on the list for tickets. Away tickets are £1k whether it works in your favour or not, the club absorb if the prices exceed £1k.

For me, they also charge £200 for disabled parking which is expensive and providing you can get one with the hospitality seats and parking associated. Luckily, I can just about manage to walk across the road from Landore (Rossi's chippy if you remember it and you went up that way) and pay £5 per game. I miss a few games if I'm unwell (5 this season) so I suppose the ground parking is a little expensive for me. Theres quiet a few disabled who park with me and some use scooters or wheelchairs. I'm thinking of getting a scooter myself.

It's also a little messy as the stadium is run by Us the Ospreys and the Council. There are rumours we have offered to buy the stadium, I'm not sure how this stands as the stadium was built by the Council using tax payers money.

UEFA really need to sort out the Europa Cup, don't they, if nobody wants to play in it. There's a danger that it really screws up the end of our season with several teams desperately trying to avoid finishing 5th/6th/7th. And it will be really interesting to see whether West Ham try to avoid the 'fair play' qualification.....

Also, I'm not sure on the figures, but I believe we lost a bit of money when playing in europe, plus for us the extra cost of the more squad depth. In the past it has affected Stoke, Newcastle etc.....with the Premier prize money on each place finishing, it's a waste of time and will be more so next season when the prize money goes up further.

As an example, Newcastle finish 7th in Premier and get say 500k per position in league and when playing in europe the following season they finish 16th. For a big club like them they can absorb the money more with their stadium size and following compared to a club like us.

Then you get clubs who fail in the Champions league then joining the competition who can then go on and win it. It's all about the money for the bigger clubs like Celtic who have a huge audience base and create TV revenue.

Your right Stewart it needs sorting out.

I enjoyed reading that Simon - hearing you say the Liberty needs upgrading makes me feel my age as I still relate to watching Swansea at the Vetch when I lived there.

My last Swansea game was a Division 3 game against Tranmere Rovers. I remember it clearly as my friend (a Tranmere fan) was staying with me so we went in the 'away' end. A quick google tells me it was Septeber 1990 and it finished 1:1. Crowd was 4,884 - how times change !

Rossi's - yep - by the Railway Bridge :)

Going back to yesteryear - I was thinking about Swansea yesterday when listening to Gabby Logan (Terry Yorath's daughter) speaking about the Bradford fire. I've a very fond memory of Terry Yorath. Me and some pals were playing football on a bit of waste ground next to the vetch (call it a car park) at the end of our street. Twice our ball went over the fence (the gate on the South side of the ground) and twice he chucked it back. The third time he came out and said if we were really that bad he'd give us a trial.

Not sure if this will work but I went on Google maps................

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.6...!1e1!3m2!1sVR_9uri_QYFeOhvCHDKGDQ!2e0!6m1!1e1

The Vetch has gone :( but our 'car park pitch' is still there. My old house would be up at the end of the road. I see the prison (the view from my back garden) is still there though.

Morning Phil,

That looks like the back of the North Bank, the main bank. We had the North, West, East and the Centre Stand. As a youngster I climbed over the wall there and slipped on the glass on top of the wall which also had spiked railings, resulting in a nasty accident to both my hands. I had to have surgery and as there was no burns or plastic surgery in those days at Swansea and I had to go to Chepstow where I was in for a week or so. Both hands covered in splints for a month so a difficult time which I learned from. The ground is now an allotment site and gardens for the Sandfields residents.

The road you must have been living on was the Western or Singleton?? Street I assume with the carpark behind> http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/vetch-field-swansea-city-what-7555315 My first game was for a testimonal for Harry Griffiths against Everton and the result was 4-4 which was in 1978. I remember the people singing and what seemed like the bank moving with people jumping up and down. I was hooked from there. I watched them going all the way up and all the way back down, when we was in the old First Division I only missed two games home and away, which was impressive as I was still in school.

Had some great memories there my favourite being beating West Ham in the FA Cup in 1990, the atmosphere was something else.

Also the Hull game when stayed in the league. Michael Howard who used to play left back for us in those days is my neighbour, cracking bloke who is involved in the youth set up for us now.

With our support and where we have come from I was suprised by how many we took to Wembley for the Play Offs and Capital One Cup with them not being cheap days out, which was 44k and we wanted more tickets, which suprised me when you look back at our support. I believe things have changed down here and it's not so much Rugby orientated and the club need to build on this and get some extra bums on seats. We have a big catchment area with us approaching towards the Cardiff areas like Bridgend and down to West and Mid Wales. Catch them young and they stay for life, we have the potential to be a club like Stoke, Southampton etc... for attendances.

Edit: The right image didn't copy for the car park initially so pasted below. Car park at bottom left of picture.

Hi Simon - That sounds like a nasty accident.

As for the pic - that's the very same car park and it made me smile.

Our ball went over the wall where the floodlight is in the bottom corner. I said South but yes it's the North side. Looking down from Scotland I see things the wrong way round ;)

It's lovely to look at those photographs (and see John Hartson) and perhaps I'll get back down there one day. I remember the club shop which must have been somewhere opposite where the 4 red cars are parked on the left of the photo.

Sandfields - I forgot it was even called that. My house is out of shot to the right. It was actually on Spring Terrace. It's the one for sale in this image.........

After that I moved up (what a hike) to this house at the top of Constitution hill.

Singleton (another name that had skipped me by) 'The Singleton' - I drank a few in there and it had a good music night. That would be out of shot to the lower left.

Yes the club shop, a former living room in an old terrace house, how things have changed!. I used to drink in the Queens and the Garabaldi, didnt bother with the Singleton or the Builders around the corner so much.

Where the floodlights are you mentioned the blokes who owned the houses over looking the pitch would charge you to go in and watch the games of ladders, same up a bit from the club shop and a old mate of mine, Ken, would do the same but from his flat roof. (the gap between stands at left of pitch).

I used to live on Hanover street for a while which is at the bottom of Constitution hill, the thought of walking up there was a killer. There used to be a around Britian type cycling event and they would struggle with that hill.

I not sure if you have you seen it, but Twin Towns is a good film if you understand the Swansea dialect and has the Hill in it if I remember correctly. Also, as you was close to Townhill you may have heard of the Townhill Rap, just in-case you haven't have a listen.

Warning for over 18's only.

I had plenty of friends on Hanover Street. A lot of students from Mount Pleasant stayed on the streets (Hanover / Norfolk / Cromwell / Rohondda) that went off Constitution Hill.

I used to go in the Queens too. The White Rose (Walter Road) used to be a good pub.

Lots of clubbing too lol - The names have changed but Ritzy's on the Kingsway..........

What was 'Harpers'...............

The one I've very fond memories of was on Wind Street if i remember right. It was a Rock pub and used to have live music in the basement. Can't for the life of me remember the name though.

The Queens was the Football idiots pub on matchdays. I used go to the Rose now and again along with the Tenby for a smoke;). Harpers was just a nightclub, an old friend of mine used to DJ there, it went a bit raveish (spl) towards the end. Ritzy, Top Rank, Oceano as it is now used be good if on the pull and you wanted to move up from the Barons crowd:D

The one on Wind street was the Coach House, again, I used to pop in regular there on our way to Dora's. Now that was a club, you could write several books on the place, anything went, rough as a roofers nail bag. Had murders one day in the Coach with Man U fans in our old First Division days, long story I'll tell you one day.

I dont drink now due to my medications, Morph etc...... so haven't been into town for about 4 years. Wind Street is like Blackpool, The Market Newcastle etc........ just aload of old bank type buildings turned into pubs, where the youngsters go and drink until they can't stand and they roid heads want to fight the world. After the games when I did drink, I would leave the area by 9.00pm as it was too much hastle for the older, married types like me.

The Coach House - thanks for that (y) as it was going to annoy me all day long. I'd completely forgotten the name although I don't recall murdering anybody.

Barons - I'd forgotten all about that place. Doras I do remember.

Marthas Vineyard was another - a little way along the Kingsway from the YMCA

Great result for Juventus, going to Madrid and getting a result.

I wasn't looking forward to a Barca v Real final, too much money spent by those two. I didn't think Juve could do it, not against Real at home.

It's another long shot, but fingers crossed for Juve in the final. :)

Brilliant - like you I wasn't wanting an El Clásico final.

I bet the powers that be are unhappy though ;)

Well it is the divine right of Real to play in the final isn't it ? Maybe Juve didn't read the rule book :D

Southampton off to a flyer against Villa. Sadio Mane with a hat-trick in 2mins 56 secs - the fastest ever in the Prem League

It's funny, because 10 years ago to the day(ish) those fans making fun of villa were chanting USA! USA! rather than cheering for their own team and doing their bit to keep them up.

Some Villa fans leaving after 27mins.

That result for Villa has brought their goal difference down to everyone else's level.

Sadio Mane broke Robbie Fowler's fatest Premier League Hat-trick record. I think he knows about it. ;)

Sad that Gerrard's last game at Anfield was a loss, :( but the best team won.

Palace do the double over Liverpool for only the 2nd time ever.

I'm glad Palace won but tip my cap to a rolls Royce of a midfielder. Loyal, spectacular and a leader. I enjoy watching him play.

Definitely our bogey team now. It seemed almost incidental compared to sending Stevie G off the right way. The second best player I've ever seen pull on a Liverpool shirt. Okay, Suarez was incredible too, but as legends go Stevie and KK are the dons. I read a lovely piece by a Man Utd fan about their old enemy today too. Respect.

Did you say that you're glad Palace won??

Social Media busy tonight.

Sterling seems to want out of Liverpool. That seems an odd one.

United's song about George Best is in bad taste ?

Calum Best likes it.....

Very surprising result for West Brom v Chel$ki. Well done West Brom.

Some kick offs in the game. Fabregas kicking the ball quite forcibly, and hitting a West Brom player on the head, into the discussion about Costa clashing with another player was not good. For someone who can control a ball I doubt it was accidental. So stupid. There was no need for him to get the ball in the first place. Costa is a big Red Card incident waiting to happen imho.

Rather than saying anything against his players, Moaninho has a dig at the Ref, which was uncalled for imho. Otherwise he took the defeat pretty well. Obviously trying to deflect and minimise the result as is his job.

Costa reminds me a bit of Suarez. He is very clever at getting little 'incidents' in without them being noticed or at least if they're noticed they look accidental. At some point it will catch up with him.

I didn't se the game but I've read that he nail raked somebody's neck. That's the petty stuff I hate to see.
