Starting on the 21st of September a new six-part series starts on Channel 5 called 'Being: Liverpool'. Apparently it's an access all areas, look behind the scenes of a football club. Should be interesting.

Same for Gerard, it was a yellow, but he's been the best player on the field for england
 
Feel sorry for Roy, he has not had a full squad to pick from since taking over as England manager.
 
The ref has had an absolute shocker there today.

Gerrard was fantastic up until that silly second yellow which causes him to miss a game. Lampard worked his socks off too and deserves man of the match.
Little bit disappointed by the passing of jagielka, there were a lot of occasions where he gifted it to Ukraine.
 
Though Johnson had a good game, he has actually been pretty good recently and a good player going forward. Short sighted not having crouch there. Especially as Richards did the same yet still got picked at Olympics.
 
Nobody shone for me, Johnson was a liabilty at the back and the front 3 (Defoe, Ox and Cleverly) did not look like they had played together much. Milner again worked tirelessly but Frank Lampard was almost invisible and probably the most ineffective player we had.

Bring back Beckham & Crouch!
 
Big day ahead with the release of the Hillsborough files. I imagine their contents shall cause quite a stir whichever way they attribute responsibility.

Johnson was shocking- why can't he use his left foot?
Richards played for GB- different team and different manager. But short sighted by Hodgson in not picking both Crouch and Richards.
 
I saved my sanity and watched Dr Who on iplayer with Wifey instead.

'This ref is a fool' was just a generic point about how I felt about this ref, hence why it was a separate sentence :thumbs:

agreed. Lampard and Gerrard were supposed to be 'holding'... well i can't remember seeing them dropping deep to come and demand the ball from the centre backs and distributing wide/further forward.. we're still missing that important cog in the wheels (aka Scholes). There seemed to be no point in giving them roles to play if they just go out there and play their normal games :bonk:
 
Seems like an age but it's nice to have the football back today.

I managed to avoid the results all day today to watch MOTD with some added suspense. I must say seeing their match scheduled first filled me with dread but what a game!

I feel so sorry for Southampton too. To have played the way they have and still have no points to their name is a very cruel introduction back into the premier league. Hopefully once they start meeting some of the weaker teams in the league they can rack up the points.

Just back from a couple of weeks away - flew back during the Chelsea match yesterday - happy with the draw. Our midfield is starting to look good.

Interesting to see Blackburn top of the league - not sure what their fans will do if they do go up with the current manager!

We were much the better team in the 2nd half Al, although you wouldn't know it from watching MotD. :suspect:
