Why can't he be the new JonJo Shelvey?

Comparing players is never a good thing, different era, team-mates, ball, fitness levels, .......the only two things are that are comparable at the moment are....sex and they play in midfield.

I was referring to that, Tom, but the Zidane comment was tongue in cheek. I do rate him though.
 
'Carry on: Liverpool' I've seen some of it on Fox but will probably watch it later asuming I don't get a 'pass' for a night out tonight..

Do we get to evict people or anything ?

Looking forward to hooking up with some mates back home for a trip to Anfield on Sunday.

We even get a letter on arrival.

You're on the right lines though. If United don't win then it probably will be down to us. ;)

No idea what we'll have lined up. It's rare I go out on a Friday these days.

Thur is my night out as he drops the prices :D to clear the kegs so he can get a full set ready for Fri.

I'll leave it a while yet though so I can kill two birds with one stone and take Skye (my old dog). Quite fancy a few nips. Islay of course.

Got family visiting so can't watch the game but ears about sending off. Was it warranted or the usual ref being paid off by united?
 
At the half time interval, both commentators and one of those was Gary Neville said the way it was, the ref could have given them both a yellow as with were diving in, but chose to give Liverpool a red.
Mind you man utd were getting run ragged at the time.

I also don't believe it was a penalty for united.

It's such a shame when these big games are decided by the ref. Liverpool deserved far more, even though I didn't particularly want them to win before the game.

It's part of the game and it was before we had a million camera angles to examine for each incident :shrug:

Red card was 'harsh' only in that worse challenges (by Liverpool players amongst others) have gone unpunished in the past.

Relieved and happy about the win, but disappointed but not surprised by the booing at Evra.
 
Of course it was a penalty for man u. It was pretty straightforward. Good to see Suarez denied a pen. Why he needed to make out he was shot is beyond me and is justice for being a cheat!
 
Man U very lucky, lots of debatable decisions from the ref......will Liverpool be looking for a new manager?

I'm not sure how the old "it's happened for years" is any sort of justification for what happened.

The red card was 'harsh' because both players flew in - arguably Evans more dangerously than Shelvey - and the ref only saw one half of what happened and penalised Shelvey for his lesser part in an ugly challenge. Evans has to, at the least, see equal punishment to Shelvey in that situation. What has gone unpunished in the last is a complete irrelevance to what was fair and right in this situation.

No, cause they are doing this the right way and well are opening fixtures were tough.

Liverpools performance was good, even when down to 10 men and with Utd with 12 men. Time and some good business in the transfer window to find some goals will sort are problems out.

It's not justification, but the argument of what the ref sees and what we see from several angles has been done to death. Years ago, we didn't know they were getting things wrong; now we have people obsessing over that and stupid handshakes. :|

Roles reversed today.

It's normally Liverpool that struggle at Anfield against the bottom teams but it was our turn today.

That said, being the better side has seen us leave empty handed in recent seasons so we were due one.

The Shelvey sending off was justified as was the penalty for United.

I think the Suarez penalty could have easily been awarded too but he doesn't do himself any favours.
