Corrected that for you.

But, there you go again with your Arsenal bashing. It's so boring. Do us a favour, if Arsenal go on a winning streak (even if they win a trophy!) don't come gloating on here.

I was not Arsenal bashing in that comment, merely making the point that he did win a title at City. Sure, the money was a huge factor for him but would he have gone to QPR for the same money??? Who knows, but if a better club offer you more money why turn down a move? He may not play every game but plays in most.

A journalist asks Brendan Rodgers "With all the ins and outs over the summer, how far do you think you are from a good team?

"Brendan replies "About a mile if you cut through Stanley Park".

rooney's absence is encourging moldova and it is making them think they might have a chance for a result on friday.

Funny, because england fans are thinking the exact same thing. We might actually have a chance of getting a result now that he's not in the squad!

I thought that too. ;)

Nice lively start from England and an early goal is exactly what was needed. Of course, nothing other than a win should be accepted here.

Saw an interesting Opta stat earlier; since Rooney's England debut we've won 61% of games with him and 69% without him. I always thought we looked better without him in the team so it's nice to see that backed up by a statistic.

How clinical is Defoe? I remember saying when the Euro selection came out how shocked I was at his omission.

Interesting topic on talk sport this evening after Arsene Wenger had hoped that by sending Bendtner to Juve he would return to Arsenal the finished article. This was ridiculed by the presenter for Arsenals arrogance

I think Arsenal would win the italian league hands down so i dont understand why the arrogance accusation

Was that Durham? Guy's a complete knob.

Just been given a new squad signed shirt off Steve Bould, not sure if i sell it , or burn it :D

I'm really not a fan of talksport. I occasionally resort to listening to them commentate an Arsenal game when needs must and it's a painful experience!

Now what is it you two have in common. It will come to me eventually

Agreed - although he's a pretty good wind up merchant. It just depends which side of the debate he's given to back.

Durham is a legend especially when he berates Arsenal and Liverpool.

Good one today.......who will win a title first ..... Liverpool or England, top class radio phone in stuff. It is all about making the listener talk about what is on the radio........ Durham does it in spades.

England or Liverpool.

I was listening to that one on the way home this afternoon - I couldn't decide which although the amount of folk who had resigned themselves to not seeing either in their lifetime had me chuckling.

Got to be pleased with how Arsenal players did for their countries tonight. Diaby and Cazorla score and assists for theo and the ox. Anyone know where to watch the international highlights for the other games?

What we have in common is being right, given that the statistics prove we are more successful without him than with

I don't know the answer but what is the stat for competitive games with Mr Rooney?

It made me chuckle too. I realise neither are likely in the next decade.

O's off the mark for this season with an unexpected win at Swindon, onwards and upwards I hope

'Being Liverpool'

Could be an interesting watch.

statistics can be made to prove whatever you want them to.
You're honestly saying we have a better centre forward than Rooney? :cuckoo:

I'm saying that england are a better team without shrek in it. I'm not the only one who thinks it either, and it's not because I hate man u (which I do). A lot of my wifes side are all man u and they also agree for england rooney is a poor choice.

Rooney is the best English forward, but England are a better team without him.

Can't believe Livermore has had a call-up to England. Sterling is a surprise too after only 70 or so minutes of game time so far, although he is a great talent.

What do players like Dyer and Sinclair have to do to get a shot at England?

I think Roy needs to open his eyes to clubs other than Liverpool!

Edit to say I am pleased Lallana is getting noticed, he's a class talent!

Rooney has certainly been under par for England but you could say that about pretty much any long serving England player. Other players in other possitions can come and go depending on knocks and fitness but it seems that managers have all felt that a half fit Rooney is still a worthy striking option.

2004 were the last finals that Rooney was fit and injury free for and he was fantastic till he got crippled. Ever since then it's been bad timing and he's been selected more out of hope than anything due to the lack of quality alternatives.

Hopefully at some point he'll be injury free at a time that coincides with International competition and that the manager can get him performing at the level we know he can.
