What happened with terry to get him the red card exactly? I was watching in the pub and all is saw was a barca player fall over him - why did he get a red card?

no excuse for that.

Glad Chelsea got that goal back before half time but John Terry - what a plonker.

Many top players have done similar things. Rooney, Beckham spring to mind, pretty sure the likes of Rvp and Henry have done the same. Even playing 5 aside I have had crazy rushes of idiocy!

Messi is leagues ahead of ronaldo. Messi had a bad day today, it happens. He's still a better player than ronaldo.

Messi had a number of bad days at the world cup too! Am sure if Rooney or Rvp were to play for barca they would score 60/70 goals too. Even Carroll may get to double figures.

Blatter and Plattini will be sobbing to each other on the phone right now LOL

Oh, how that must smart:lol::lol::lol: All their hopes on a Spanish final dashed by a fine english team display of soak up, take risks, use your luck and clinical counter finishing.

Is it me or are Barca only capable of playing 'walk into the net' football :cuckoo:

It's not just about the number of goals. It's the pure skill. You can't even compare Wayne looney with the likes of RVP and messi. Huge gap in class.

It's kind of ironic that the two players of last year who were deemed the worst money spent - torres and caroll both score the winners in two big cup competitions to get their teams through to the final.

You pay a lot of money for these players and then they get lambasted but they still come up with the big goals at the right times. I'm sure chelsea will feel like £50 million pounds was worth getting into the CL final for.

The FA cup isn't anywhere near as prestigious so £35 mill for that final is still not payback, get us back into the CL with a goal next season and it will start to feel like money well spent!

Joe - Rooney and RVP are different types of player, even a you must be able to spot that so why are you comparing them?

The Torres goal did not actually get Chelsea into the final - it was Ramires' goal.

thats up for debate. Barcelona were attacking the goal in that last 4 minutes with vigour and I would have bet my mortgage on them scoring had it not been for torres goal which secured it.

i wasn't. Cambsno was... and i agree they are different types of player. Ones good and ones bad :D

So, bayern or Madrid to qualify tonight? I really do think it's 50:50 because they both have so much attacking threat! I'm going to say 1-1 on the night and so bayern to qualify. I expect to be wrong though!

Ladyboy's goal was a bonus. Nobody knows if Barcelona would have managed a goal or not but I suspect not.

Anyway - Real v Bayern Munich - Hoping for a Ronaldo show tonight.

Joe you are deluded, you are probably biased against Ronaldo because he played for united.

....Never

Just like Barcelona were going to score but Fernado Ladyboy got the winner last night.

Penalties then.

I can just about cope with penalty shoot outs when it isn't England even if one side is German

The Germans like penalties it seems, Jose didn't look very happy about it all

Just saw the highlights on sky sports news. I love watching man u lose but seeing Ronaldo miss a penalty and lose the game comes a very close second. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Worst set of penalties I've seen apart from Cardiff in the 2012 Carling Cup final

Haha very true!

A fantastic game to watch though. Much more exciting than last night's semifinal because it was so close fought and competitive unlike chelsea who just strapped in and rode out their luck basically.

What else were Chelsea meant to do with 10 men - at Camp Nou - against the worlds best club team?! They soaked up the pressure and countered when possible. The only viable tactic surely? You're never going to out-pass, create more chances or have more possession than Barca under those circumstances.

I think both were fine semi-finals (drama, great goals, individual performances), different, but still both very good.

noticed a sandwich board for the old nags head last night
Real Madrid v Ze Germans :D

They did exactly what they had to do, absolutely. Just saying that last night's game was far more entertaining for me because of how close fought it was. The chelsea game was exciting because they were so utterly outgunned but still fought out a win, somehow!

It'll be an interesting final although it's a shame there will be so many suspensions for both teams. Bayern didn't exactly play a clean game last night. Gustavo could have seen two yellows for the amount of repeat fouling he did and Ribery was up to his old tricks!

I thought the chelsea semi was better because I had more interest in it. In the madrid one I couldn't really care less, apart from enjoying ronaldo being miserable. But I didn't watch the madrid game so i can't comment on how good a football match it was

Did I hear right - John Terry has been given permission to lift the trophy should Chelsea win the final ?

He did nothing but comprimise his team in the semi final 2nd leg and obviously won't play any part in the final. Was that his idea and If so - has that man got no dignity or respect for his team mates ?

By way of comparison: I remember Roy Keane's greatest performance in a United shirt against Juventus in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final in Turin. He dragged that team into the final despite knowing (having been booked again) that he was going to miss the final. Never mind wanting to go and collect the trophy, Keane said that he didn't feel he deserved his medal.

It's an absolute joke. I don't know what else there is to say.
