in the context it was originally posted, yes

Then you didn't understand the context. The reason I was out of pocket was because city won. That means you are glad city won :suspect:

 I don't see the problem Man U still 3 points ahead, taken it to 6 when they vist Man City. EASY EASY.

I actually think united will draw at city so I also don't think it will be a big deal. That's not me hedging bets. That's being honest. I think city will choke at the last moment and uniteds belligerence will see them through.

It would be beautiful though if I was wrong. One can only hope.

as long as Liverpool win the outcomes will be either

I'm unhappy that United lost a 2 goal lead, twice. I expected City to win. I didn't expect Liverpool to lose (but dont really care)

You are unhappy - I like that ;)

TBH when I woke up this morning I was expecting Liverpool to be above Everton, we weren't going to get anything from OT, and I thought Liverpool had got some form and were going to have an easy win at home.

But no, things turned out brilliantly.

ah well, it was a short lived unhappiness. I have chicken and beer inside me now and I just remembered fergie's miserable face and that united didn't win. That's cheered me up, so now I am happy again :lol::lol:

mmmmm, now I'm just hungry

Ah well. At least we kicked you out of the fa cup and have beaten you three times this season. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

You're doing it again

When Man City have been at the top as long as Man Utd, then perhaps they can call there selfs worthy winners, a one off will make no difference, but then i don't even think they will win this yr anyway.

Fergie has always maintained that no man is bigger than the club.
I seem to remember the words, "Tevez will never play for Man City again", desperate times if you ask me....

If city did win this year I think it would be disastrous for united. They will have won nothing all season. They need this title to save what for them has been a poor season overall.

I say "for them" because no doubt disgruntled man u fans will say they have done better than Liverpool. I'm not talking about how they have one on pared to us, just how thy have done compared to how they usually do, losing the prem and not winning anything all season would be very embarrassing for the club.

There's no doubt Europe has been poor for us this season but I think you're perhaps clutching at straws if you think it would be 'embarrassing' for the club to finish empty handed.

I think we've done very well all things considered to claw back City's advantage and nobody else seems to be able to do anything to prevent City's power from finishing the season top.

If United win the league then fantastic, if we don't then I'll be disapointed but a couple of domestic cups and nowhere in sight would (for United anyway) be more of a disaster.

Come on phil you are being optimistic. Even the captain himself admitted that they had to win the league to save the season. You call me a politician but lets call a spade a spade.

Kicked out of league cup by Crystal palace
Not even making the knockout stages of the CL
Kicked out of the mickey mouse Europa league
knocked out of the fa cup by Liverpool.

When was the last time you got no trophey?

On uniteds standards if they didn't win the prem this season will have embarrassed the club no doubt.

I can admit liverpools seasons of late have been embarrassing. You should too.

You're having a laugh now

How so?

If you don't win a trophy this season it will be embarrassing for united. Just ask Patrice evra

De gea letting in 4 goals at home is embarrassment enough. Steve peinars t-shirt when he scored read "god is great" and then the small print read "de gea is not":lol::lol:

Because United's season hasn't been embarrassing whilst Liverpool's has.

United are 3 points clear at the top of the league 37 points ahead of you. To put that into context - if there was a team 37 points behind Liverpool they would have 9 points.

If we do happen to finish 2nd then I'll be disapointed but only because of where we are just now, but embarrassing no.

That's about it really.

Stop comparing yourself to how Liverpool are doing, I'm not. I'm comparing you to how you normally do. Ignore Liverpool right now it's irrelevant. Like I said I can admit they have had embarrassing seasons. Look closer to home compared to how you have done of late:

Kicked out of league cup by Crystal palace
Not even making the knockout stages of the CL
Kicked out of the mickey mouse Europa league
knocked out of the fa cup by Liverpool.

IF (and it's a big if as I don't expect it to happen) you don't win the league this season, coming 2nd place and everything I stated above will have been an embarrassment for united. Just ask Patrice evra. Sorry phil, but thems the facts.

When was the last time you got no trophey? When was the last time you didn't make the knockout of the champions league? When was the last time you got knocked out of the fa cup by liverpool? When was the last time you went through a season of never winning a game at old Trafford when you went conceded first?

United coming 2nd with more points than previous seasons when they've won the title is not embarrassing at all.
Going out of any cup at any stage is not embarrassing, just financially unrewarding.

Winning any cup is something to be proud of ... something most mid table clubs realise.
Being a mid table club going by the name of Liverpool, is embarrassing.

Agree. If they don't win it will still b 4 championships in 6 years? Disappointing yes, but not embarrassing. Aside from city they are head and shoulders above any other club.

I know they're facts Joe but that doesn't make your point about United's season being embarrassing a fact. That's just your opinion.

I compared United to Liverpool because it was a direct reply to this remark.....

I can admit liverpools seasons of late have been embarrassing. You should too.

......using the gulf between United and Liverpool to try and make you understand why I wouldn't find United's season embarrassing just because you feel that way about Liverpool.

A panel of experts has examined this season's Liverpool team and identified just three key weaknesses.

They've got a terrible defence, a useless midfield and absolutely naff all up front.

So Kyle Walker has won PFA Young Player of the Year.

Ridiculous.

He's such a poor full back, didn't even deserve to be nominated, never wind WIN the award, and when he's up against Aguero as well? Don't understand that in the slightest.

At least it was nice to see a defender get some recognition for a change.

Agree with RVP though.

Am sure most Utd fans have already admitted our seasons has been beyond embrassing!

Your doing Liverpool fans no service here talking dribble. Second in the league and not won I trophy (with a poor poor squad) it's tempting to snap your hands at that instead of one trophy, a another final appearance (Still have to try and win it) and finishing just in the top ten (the way where playing in the league).

I would be surprised if there was not a Liverpool fan out there that wouldn't swap positions now for a chance at the league. Thats what I want, won all the other trophies while I have been alive but SO want to see them lift the top honour.

We are so far off it at the moment.

then you misunderstood that remark. The point was not to compare manchester united with liverpool. It was to alert you to the fact that I was being honest about my club and you should be honest about yours.

This is one of the reasons that mnchester united are the most disliked club in the premier league and why they are the most hated company in the UK (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1370780/Manchester-United-hated-company-UK.html). The fans can be so arrogant.

Hey compare yourself to wolves if you want even more of an ego boost - they just got relegated - you're doing much better than them :cuckoo:

On uniteds standards. IF they don't win the league and save their season it will have been an embarassing season for manurenited.

Evra has already said even playing in the europa league was embarassing - http://www.footballgossip.org.uk/in...be-embarrassing-to-play-in-the-europa-league/

his words, not mine. So getting kicked out of it? Then the league cup by crystal palace, then the fa cup by the bitterest rivals. And then to not win the prem. Again in your captains words:

"We have to win the league to save our season. If we don't win the league, it will have been a really bad season."

fans can delude themselves all they want. Thank god the players and the actual team are not. It will be ok though, you will win the league and have saved the embarassment, so it's largely irrelevant anyway.

was that the match of the day panelists you are referring to?

:lol: You really are turning into a biscuit Joe, you've been taking that many!
Justifying your arguments using a survey of 1000 adults from the Daily Mail and comments from Patrice Evra who you've lambasted so much recently.

Patrice Evra who you've lambasted so much recently.

Evra is the captain, he thinks the season will have to be saved by winning the prem.

It's irrelevant what I think of him. He's the captain of your team.

I think he was speaking for himself on that occasion, not on behalf of the team, fans, or even the Company. I certainly don't know any United fans embarrassed by the season, in fact most are chuffed that a relatively poor squad that hasn't been strengthened by the likes of a £35m English striker has done so well in the league. Some are sore at possibly losing out to City, others happy to see the city itself retaining it ;)

come have a chat to the other half of my family then. Finally got the father in law to admit yesterday that if they don't win the prem, this season will have been pretty embrassing for united.:clap:

At least he's being honest with himself. Unlike some. But we both agreed it wasn't going to happen. He thinks united will draw against city next week and also city will not beat newcastle so in the end it will be a fairly simple last game. I tend to agree with him

Fair enough, Patrice Evra can speak for your father in law then and possibly the rest of your family, if they own up

I think City will win all 3 remaining games and I will be too ashamed to show my face to the world again because proud Liverpool fans will be able to justify their mighty King's decisions and cup victories. :geek:

I corrected that for you :lol:

enjoyed the west ham game last nght, brings a very interesting end to the season in the championship.

if southampton draw 0-0 then west ham need to win by 3 goals and they will secure promotion.

My local team, Shrewsbury, has sold out for this Saturday's game against Dagenham where a win will secure us automatic promotion. We've been teetering on the edge of promotion for a number of years but usually bottle it in the playoffs so it'll be fantastic if we can get a shot at league 1 this time around.

Sadly I'm not one of those with tickets though!

We're also undefeated at home this season so that'd be a great achievement to keep going for the final home game of the season!
