The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

New firmware for X-T5 is out https://fujifilm-x.com/en-gb/support/download/firmware/cameras/x-t5/

Has anyone installed it yet?
Yes. I was at 1.01 yesterday with the 5 locking up using ttl flash when there were multiple people in the frame.
I broke my golden rule and did the upgrade to 1.04 mid event (last night) and the 5 was rock solid today in scenarios that had it locking up yesterday.
No obvious downsides to the upgrade (at least for my event shooting).

Alright folks, what SD cards we using in our X-T5 and what size please?
128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro x2

Seems to be the go to card. But a few pages back someone was testing out Lexar cards (can`t remember who).

Think it was @LC2 Tim.

Yes. The 64gb uhs2 cards.
I've had one 'card error' message when inserting a card after reading in my card reader, but re seating it cured that.
No problems writing or reading whilst in use (but only 800 or so shots so far).
I can't attest to speed/buffer as nothing I've shot yet has pushed that area.

I have one 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro as well, looking into getting another one for slot 2.

I think there is some pricing bot overstepping the mark there!

Has anyone got/used the TT Artisan 27mm f2.8 ? It’s price point is obviously attractive compared to the Fuji version but I’m not sure if that’s a good thing…

I use Sandisk 128GB Extreme Pro in my X cameras, and Sandisk 256GB Extreme Pro in my GFX cameras.

In the XH2S I use a ProGrade 128GB Gold CF Express card with a 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro.
In the XH2 I use an INTEGRAL Ultima Pro 128GB with a 256GB Sandisk Extreme Pro.

I took my X-T2 along to a downhill mountain bike race at the weekend, these are a few of my favourite images from the day:

It definitely got me thinking about some potential upgrades to my kit to improve AF performance:
18-55 (which I found particularly poor) -> 16-80
55-200 -> 50-140
X-T2 -> X-T5

Best get cracking on with some overtime, or does anyone want to buy some kids?

I just picked one up on ebay from £120. It only arrived today, and I've not used the Fuji one so can't really compare.

There's some vignetting when its wide open but other than that the images are sharp and decent.

The AF is noticeable slower and noisier than on my 18-55mm; but it is perfectly serviceable. It might be my imagination, but the camera seems to have more difficulty metering with the TTArtisan lens on - which shouldn't make a difference; so its probably just me.

There is loads online about this lens; if you google 'TTArtisan 27mm vs Fuji' you'll get all the right hits. Everything I've read online holds up so far.

Here's some very quick sample images; although the one of my cat is obviously over-exposed! I shoot with a X-T20.

These look good! I'm marshalling at the World Cup in Fort Bill in August, and plan to take my X-T20, kit lens and TTArtisan 27mm with me. Its possible I will struggle a bit. What settings are you running there?

Cool. I bet it will be awesome up there for World Champs. I was using 1/500th (but only because it was too dark for 1/1000th) and auto aperture/ISO. Hopefully it will be brighter in August.

Thanks for this, I have an x-t20 too. I also have the 18mm f2 which isn’t “snappy” in terms of AF but it’s fine for what I take snaps of..

be interested how you get on with metering in the next few days / weeks…

Just after a bit of advice, I bought a 50-140mm f2.8 from MPB and it arrived yesterday, I mounted it on my XH2 and took it out yesterday. When I shoot at 50mm it's OK, when I zoom in the lens won't focus on anything. I reset my camera thinking that would solve it but it didn't. I got downhearted and pulled my Sony out and went on my way, On my way back to the car I thought I would try the Fuji again......It seemed to work for one or two shots then just wouldn't focus again :rolleyes: Do I have a faulty lens? I know that MPB offer a 6-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy

Send it back. I’ve had that lens on that body. Faultless.

:agree: I've had it on X-T1 worked fine, focussing was excellent even on the T1. I now have one on an X-T2 and again brilliant. Seems like you've bought a dud, send it back. I bought my first one new and my current one from Fuji Refurb UK and as I say no issues with focussing not even with the TC 1.4 or TC 2 fitted.

Seems like it either is faulty or needs a firmware update.

I came across this scene whilst out on my bike earlier today. I only have my X100v with me, but think it has potential, so will return in good light with my full kit.

Hello. I have an XT-4 and am very happy with it. I often take it out with just one lens but I wondered if any had a recommendation for something smaller that is small and easier to take out, like when I am walking my dogs, where circumstances don't often allow for changing lots of lenses etc. Thanks in advance:)

First photos on my Fuji gear this year, just some grab shots while on a walk in the mountains in central Italy (that sounds a bit more impressive than the reality - my wife drove us up to a parking spot in the mountains and I wandered maybe 25 metres from the car, on the flat).

1. A seven shot pano that I then cropped in very tight. I could probably have got this with a single shot at 14mm and not had the pano bend in the foreground
