They are still e mount so still classed as native. Bloody good gas too.
Fixed it for you

So to buy the A7riii plus lenses to replace what I have for the Nikon would cost me about £7500 if everything was bought grey
I think I’ll be staying a Nikon shooter![]()
Steve Huff and the magical A7III review Part 1 and note "Why this may be the one you have been waiting for."
Well with such confident titles like this 'may' I'm completely sold.

Andrew point me to where i can buy an A7Riii for £500 and i will be there in an instantI got to say what we seeing about this A7iii seem like it going be a good camera at a good price. But for £500 at the moment you can get the A7Riii so wondering how much the A7iii will be grey.
I still don't see the point of these G master glasses when like some of you say up above there some good Sony Ziess glasses..

All of a sudden the d850 doesn’t feel so expensive

It's always been like this with Sony, the camera is cheap, the real money is in the lenses and accessories.

Just collecting....Are you really using your kit that much to justify it all... or just collecting?
Because the GM lenses have Focus Hold buttons and are built to a higher standard. Why would they make GM when the zeiss 35mm and 50mm are basically GM level lenses! doesn't make any sense.

storage is cheap and some may already have the processing power neededAll depends if you want the extra resolution from the R.
That £500-£600 could buy you a lens, lighting or battery grip etc.
Then consider the extra processing power and storage for those big a7riii files.
The Zeiss lenses are Zeiss designed lenses which are built by Sony, they are not built in the same way when compared to Sony's own GM lenses. To be honest we'd be splitting hairs to notice any big IQ differences between the twoThe zeiss are built to the same standard. They are priced just like GM class lenses too. They are basically GM equivalent whether you like it or not.
I don't think focus hold button is the feature that classifies a lens as GM or not.

Correct......Are you worried about the build standard in case one of your lenses falls out of the display cabinet?![]()

However it has been known that their is a greater copy to copy variation on the Zeiss lenses, so you'd need to watch out for this as some are softer than others.
Your right in that the focus AF hold button doesn't classify a lens being a GM, standard Sony G lenses also have a AF hold buttons, however I personally would want this function on future GM lenses.... its great for Eye-AF.

Sturnus vulgaris by Mark Barnes, on FlickrPlaying about with the Sony remote software for android/ios, a tripod and some willing birds. Quite a handy little app for free, pity you can't choose the focus points but it is free so can't complain too much.
Everywhere was iced over so decided to pour some boiling water over the iced over Bird bath and within a few minutes there were blue tits, chaffinches, robins and starlings fighting over it.
As you can see there was one clear winner.

I did something similar a while ago with my old NEX5 and Tokina 80-200 setup on a tripod facing our bird table and triggering a flashgun behind the table with the on-camera flash. I had to pre-focus on the table (MF lens) but it worked well to give portrait lighting to the shots;

On paper, the A7iii looks to be the camera I've been waiting for in order to switch my main cameras to mirrorless later this year. I've liked the Sony lenses I've used and now that Sigma has announced E mount I'd be sure I could swap my system without much of a financial hit. We'll have 4 bodies, about 10 lenses and loads of peripherals to get rid of which will be a bit of a pain, though.
Been primarily shooting Nikon for 14 years but really frustrated that they haven't produced a decent mirrorless body for my glass.
I just changed Deci. You will absolutely love it !
decided what you are doing about your faulty a9 yet?
Some of you guys seem to have bottomless wallets, fair play to you though, the Sony shooters as a demographic seem to be young to early middle age guys
