The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I also submitted a request for a PX on the Sony A7 and the ol 28-70 kit lens that I never use. £600, via Wex.

Opinions?

Just been doing some research this afternoon regarding the A7iii v A7Riii. Apart from he MP on the A7Riii what else going be different am i right in thinking the A7iii AF is going be faster than the A7Riii

The EVF is better and faster on the A7R III, including better weather sealing and better rear LCD.
I am sure there are other differences too.

Which designer chose to bolt on the gloss black fingerprint magnet end parts when the rest of the lens is satin finish? They'd look better in the EF mount with an MC11 instead!

Its also coz the thin bit is so long, samyang did it better... should've extended the fat bit.

We all like a long one

Definitely. Considering Sigma has spent 3 years 'developing' these, it looks like they've maybe spent most of that time on the software so hopefully they perform better than they look.

I don't believe. Mustve taken a real genius to think they could add a bit of metal on the end to make up for the reg distance difference... and a slightly tweaked MC11 algorithm.

Presets can get you close but not fix the issue. But I didn't have a problem with Sony colours till recently where I am having to deal with a lot of skin tones. Sony truly sucks here....
Looking at Flickr skin tones are all over the place, some look great some not so great, but this is true for all cameras I look at whether it be the D750, 5D4 etc etc. I'm guessing processing therefore has a lot to do with it?

So this is the issue with Sonys early colour science, note the improvement.... its mostly noticeable in low light and especially with AWB. Their skin tones sucked but way better now. Its not always easy to correct for it as you change the hue/tones in the rest of the image, takes time to fix when masking.

Think I am liking the canon colour tone

The Sony A7 was really bad for colour science :D

Canon is still the best... I agree my A7RII is better than A7 but that's hardly a glorifying praise.

May be I should just buy a canon and glue 85mm/1.2 on to it and be happy...

I was looking through the D500 thread last night, very impressive camera.

Yes it a very nice camera no doubt there
