The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Yet they still won't move to Bayer. They love to squeeze every drop out of a sensor. Just use the bloody 24mp Sony sensor as is and tweak the processing and colour. X trans is showing its BS for landscape.
It's BS for a lot of things, may be it's easier to postprocess their RAW files now but my experience with XT1 has scarred me for life :P

They are fantastic to use and the lenses are amazing... I really liked my fujis except for the processing side.

Actually not so fantastic IMO. At least XT1 wasn't and xt2 while it was a huge improvement is still no better than my A7RII for AF. In fact the eye-AF is fairly reliable on A7RII in AF-C it wasn't on xt2. Then again their 56mm/1.2 is probably the slowest lens while sony 85mm/1.8 is fast and snappy. Both are equally sharp, Fuji had slightly better bokeh.
XT1 didn't have a single customisable button or memory slots. Some people may like this because every body is the same so you can pick one up and start shooting without worrying if things have been personalised. But I am software engineer, I like to customise my working environment to suit my needs and Fuji way doesn't sit well with me.
Do they have zebras yet in video?
Then there is the mushy landscape and don't even get me started on the processing...

Also don't see why people like Fuji JPGs, much prefer canon's who definitely have got their colour science nailed (unlike Sony too)

I get that you don't like Fuji, but the X-T1 does have customisable function buttons - 6 of them

Nearly all the buttons are customisable. Bloody engineers not reading manuals. No wonder the country’s going to pot

Yeah we just like to start playing ASAP :D
Don't blame me for the country though if anything I am part of making all theses discussions possible ;)

Or the net. Or the camera menu.
I did go through the menu... I had XT1 for a whole week... Not sure how I missed it
Admittedly I don't set up things all at once. I do it progressively to adapt my shooting as it evolves. Perhaps I just checked once for a button or two and gave up.

I couldn't get zebras in video also is that possible on XT1/2? Perhaps I missed that also:thinking:

I seldom search on the net for settings since I am able to find most things without doing so.

It’s a shame because the level of customisation is pretty cool.

Not sure on zebras. It’s not known for being great for video.

Yes A7III might be the first camera body I have actually liked!! We'll wait and see till I get my hands on it :D

I find it pretty useful for video personally. Since its very responsive for getting feedback outside when light is changing. Don't use it much for stills as every moment is discreet.

Btw voigtlander has announced two new lenses for e-mount - 21mm f/3.5 and 110mm f/2.5 macro

Was quite excited about Voigtlander glass until the 35mm f1.4 so will hold off on the excitement, suspect the 110mm will be epic but the 21mm will probably not hold a candle to the Loxia 21.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Like most of everything about Fuji except rendering in certain situations (regardless of software used).

I'm seriously tempted by the A7R III as an all in one option rather than having the D750 and EM1, but I'm just not convinced the AF is up to the standard of the D750 for sports and the like. The other issue is the lens prices especially the 70-200mm f2.8 which is a must. The High MP could substitute for the lack of 600mm lens (can crop the 100-400mm), and the Sony colours don't bother me too much as I generally set up a preset in LR with hue and saturation changes to my liking anyway.

Sorry, just kinda thinking out loud ;)

I'm not a fan of the colours, only thing I didn't like on the a6000 and A7,but as you say can create a preset which I never did :)

Presets can get you close but not fix the issue. But I didn't have a problem with Sony colours till recently where I am having to deal with a lot of skin tones. Sony truly sucks here....

One thing I do like about the fuji is the black and white preset ( classic chrome maybe?).
Would be nice to find a preset or ps action for that!
