The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

You should go over to sonyrumors now and then. Not so tolerant there :)
I have a sneaky feeling we're not looking, at classifieds many who buy and trade FE gear never post here my experience is that Fuji and Nikon users pop in regularly not really for a shall I switch for Sony rather as a means of convincing themselves that what they have now is better.

I came from Canon my reason I wanted EVF I don't recall in my time in the thread canon users dropping in suggests they are happy

Only speaking for myself but my preference would be mainly seeing posts from Sony owners as using the camera is one reason for an owners thread.

My only Nikons have been coolpix excellent for small cameras though in fairness they both broke (fell apart) :)

I don't have a horse in this race. I'm just here for the entertainment:)

So you telling me your got both the A7ii and xt2?

The CAF can be slow and miss lock I believe the xt2 better at this

I don't own an A7 although I do shoot with an A6000 but I'd like to think that anyone can add benefit to a thread? It would be a pretty quiet thread if you had to own an A7 to join in.

My apology i should also of said of course you are welcome to join in as is any TP member personally i am just sick of hearing how great the Fuji cameras are i have nothing at all against them or come to that any other brand i would just like a bit of reciprical regard from others that my choice is also okay

Every camera i have owned has had a problem or 2 we all look forward to tech advances :)

I'd need to see some comparisons of the a7 and the Zeiss 35mm f2.8 and the xt1 with the 23mm f2 as this would be my setup for 90% of the time. This would be the deciding factor I have no brand loyalty. If Samsung didn't pull the plug I'd stick with them.

I had a GX10 my first dslr and loved the inbuilt IS i adopted early and glass was hard to get hold of so ended up with Canon 40D

Given a choice i prefer body stabilisation over lens an example would be the canon 17-40mm a great bit of glass only issue was no IS this was no longer an issue when i bought the Canon 5d3 that thing could see in the dark better than me so i could keep my shutter speed up

You can go around and around in circles comparing the Sony A7II with the Fuji XT-2, bottom line is Sony make the best mirrorless FF body which is the A7RII and Fuji make the best mirrorless APS-C, the Fuji XT-2.
Both have advantages and disadvantages so you need to accept these.

Complete the sentence [emoji6]

I agree, maybe its the timescale in which people switch their gear that I don't fully appreciate.

I'd agree, I'm a self-confessed GAS sufferer so know sometimes the latest and greatest can get the better of some people, but since I've been with Sony since their very first full-frame mirrorless A7 body, you could say I've used the Sony system enough to know the positives & negatives. :D

Sony is the perfect brand for GAS bags the way they go through new bodies. However good for cheapskates like me.

It looks like it only be posted images these past few days LOL

Does this work or you reckon the street light off putting.

Big put off for me along with the red circle. Why do you want to move to the Fuji Andy?

Faster AF for CAF and quicker buffer

right ok, i didnt realise you shoot fast moving objects

I know the A7ii is capable of doing it as people have said but I have just never been able to do it on this like I did on the D750..

Have you updated your firmware? A quick Google reveals this as an issue pre-firmware update. Afterwards peeps were getting 25 Raw and fine shots, and finding that with a quick card they could carry on.

* I am not a Sony owner, although I have owned 2 X a7 and 1 X a7r ;)

Just test JPEG that was fine.. Raw Compress that was fine. Raw uncompress is where it not too good

400x lexor Pro they are original from Harrison. So should it write faster at uncompressed? As it fine otherwise

What memory card you got? I bet if u use compress you get least 25

Will get a few not bad at £16

Aren't uncompressed raws supposed to be for the highest quality across the frame, like landscapes? Not sure you need to machine gun those :0)
