The 52 Weeks of Daysleeping - week 25 "Development" Reshoot

Love the shot :) My first thoughts were 'Lost' - desert island and stubbly guy :)

And I believe one of the most complex plots going :D

As I've never watched it I may be wrong and nor do I understand the numbers :)

But none of that matters :D cos its the image that counts :D

I love the lighting and detail and colour of this shot and the obvious effort you've taken :)

Its a winner for me

Got it in one Dark Star

My thinking re the theme was indeed the complexity of the plot.

Thanks for the lovely comments - I really wanted to take this picture outside as I'm sure I could have set up a better beach with some manufactured sea and a more convincing BG in view but I did the best I could on the table top (well, bedroom floor, but that's not important!) because of the rain.

I love the Emotion picture  and wish I had one of those most days :D

What a range of emotions you had that week and I hope there were some happy ones in there somewhere too. Glad the rant helped. The skin tones are spot on and the composition is great too.:clap:

Being over here I've never seen Lost but I love the picture. The lighting is great and the effort you put into creating it shows in its complexity. A  from me.

Week 22 - Time

Again, apologies for the late entry, and even more apologies for not keeping up to date with my comments on everyone elses photo's. I am due a mammoth feedback session. Pro,ise I'll be up to date soon ;)

I could not for the life of me think of an idea for time and then I realised that this project it pretty time-centred. We are nearly half way through our 52 weeks and I don't know where the time has gone!

Well done to everyone that is still going - and kudos if you've managed to get your shot in on time every week

Really like the thought that has gone into this shot, the lighting is superb too, really brings out the detail in the wood. Well done a great interpretation.

says it all for me, great shot and i think the most creative i have seen this week :D

A lovely well composed shot that we can all relate to!

Late? Who cares :)?

Job done and done well

Week 23 - Inspiration

This is probably the least happy I have been with any of my 52 entries so far :(

The only inspiration I had this week is that inspiration usually starts with a spark in your mind... sadly no sparks were forthcoming for me this week!!

I promise to do better with the next theme...

Its not often I see three pics on the trot and love them all, Complex is fab, just spent 10mins surfing the Kubrick site. It does not get much more complex than lost.

Your time shot is ace, love the contrast, great pic.

Your spark of inspiration is a very good image, excellent stuff, I'm impressed.

Thanks Hyster - that's really cheered me up after my severe lack of inspiration this week :)

Love time and Inspiration
Well Done
:clap::clap:

Love time and Inspiration
Well Done

:agree: Sorry seem to have missed your last few shots...:'(

The time one is brilliant, love everything about that one...:clap::clap:

Inspiration that works so well with the black B/G...:clap::clap:

Two very strong shots in both weeks...

Excellent...

An interesting and clever take on the theme, I think a lot of us found this theme difficult, so well done for thinking creatively

A a bright spark :) Great execution of a great idea! Love it!

Just catching up - and Hyster's beaten me to it.

I can only agree. Well done - and stay smiling. :)

Excellent.

Thankyou very much - looking back at it Time is probably one of my own favourites so far. Particularly as I managed to get the lighting I wanted with the use of one el-cheapo table lamp :D

i love your take on the theme and think you have executed it brilliantly

Thanks Toothie - it only took five sparklers...!

Definately my least favourite theme to date! Glad you like it ;)

Saying you´ve got no Inspiration then pulling off a shot like that

Inspired

Too kind as always

A a bright spark :) Great execution of a great idea! Love it!

Thanks DS - judging by the feedback I may have been a little hard on myself - but I still think I could have done better!

Jean

Thanks Jean - I still smiling... even though I promised to do better with this weeks theme and I have barely even thought about it yet!:D

Week 24 - Development

When bird seed falls into the bird bath and you leave it a few days it develops into this...

another battle with natural light for me this week - I'm not sure who won :D

Week24-Development.jpg

Blimey that's a weird looking thing...

It's not your strongest shot you have done, but saying that I can't stop looking at it... so really it got to be a big  up from me...

It fits in with development so very well...

Gotta agree that's a weird looking thing. Well done. I don't think the light won.

Great photo...surely a contender for the weirdest award though ;)

Jon

Not up there with the stellar heights you have hit in the past few weeks, I'm vewing it in strong sunlight hitting a laptop and I'm kind of struggling to make out exactly what I'm looking at.

It looks like a really shallow dof, like the colours, I'm just struggling to put in context.

Interesting idea....which I think we all like :)

However I am struggling with the photo....macro is nt as easy as it often looks...such a shallow depth of field....

Does it have to be a macro shot?
Maybe you will use the reshoot card to re-think this one as the idea is a good one :)

Sorry for the mass replies, but it is catch up time for me.

Complex:
Love it!!!! what a very hansome kubrick!! The lighting, colour, clarity is all good too.

Time:
I love this eternal calendar, and the lighting you have used has given it that timeless look. Very nice.

Inspiration:
I'm not too sure how this meets the theme, but it is a great capture.

Development:
I agree with jeans comments, but this is a great spot, and a great idea!

well done

Thanks for all the comments - I tend to agree now I've looked at it again So here is my first re-shoot of the project:

Development #2

Week25-ReshootDevelopment.jpg

Better?
Worse?
Indifferent?

Be honest now... ;)

Well, your first shot is really a strange one, I don´t know what to make of it but I kkep going back to have a look at it and that makes it successful for me. It´s intriguing :clap::clap:

#2 is more recognizable and I love the focal point point so yet another clever piece of work :clap::clap:

#2 works much better

Apologies for my temporary absence everyone - life got in the way for a couple of weeks I'm afraid. I will try to get up to date with commenting on everyone elses pics but bear with me and I'm sorry if I miss any!

Anyway, enough apologies... a belated week 26 - Night (owl)

EDIT - please see The 52 Weeks of Daysleeping Pt 2 for week 26 to 52 - link below
