The 2012 Season F1 Thread

I was refering to an earlier post saying cars had been going wide there all weekend
This dosnt mean its legal the track is clearly defined and too many excursions invite some sort of reaction from the stewards
Vettal was stretching this somewhat
Vettal's penalty was for leaving the track (all four wheels) and rejoined gaining an advantage ( he should have given Jenson it back then he could have been third)

I was surprised it wasn't mentioned. In catching Button Vittel had been running off circuit and gaining an advantage consistently, it wasn't a case of accidently missing his lines.

Berni could run F1 like Mr Bridger from the italian job

Looks like clarification is on its way for red bulls engine mapping
You could put a rizzla cig paper between legal and cheat on this one

You gotta admire Adrian Newey though. He does know how to take it to the edge.

So who is going to win the hungarian GP
Its slow to medium corners this weekend so it will be won or lost on the bends
ALonso with the all rounder Ferrari
Jenson or Lewis with the new found form Maclaren
Vettal or Webber in there now un-mapped red bull
Kimi or grosjean with there new drs activated Lotus
Perez or koby in the ever improving Sauber
Schooie and rosberg will they find consistancy in the Mercedes
And of course what part will Massa and Mad Mal play in preventing any of the above finishing

Might have a cheeky £5 on Lewis to get pole and finish on the podium.....those McLaren upgrades looked impressive for Jenson!! :)

First day practise over and
Maclarens look good
Lotus is still there and there about, wonder if they will race the double drs?
Ferrari are well still ferrari
But red bull seem subdude in both practises and according to Gary Anderson they have been doing more mechanical adjustments than usual so maybe the maps were important
Vettal can always use his bottom lip as a cockpit wing after germany
looking forward to Q3

The underdogs Lotus are still there in the mix
Vettal and Webber were all over the place in Q1 Q2 they must have turned up all settings to max on vettals to get third in Q3 but of course the dumped mapping wasn't to blame was it

And it would have been a good bet. Great race for Lewis today to win, looked after his tyres well, but how fast was Kimmi? Well done for Lotus :)

Both macs were certainly much improved Jenson just wasnt lucky, wrong call and traffic as a result
BUT what about the lotus boys, they are fast and improving
Red bulls well they have a persicution complex and for some reason dont seem to be as fast as when they were in Valencia
I reckon Alonso is in for a challenge after the hols are over
Mad Mal did well only one collision

I see Vettel is getting a little tetchy now things are not going his way...

Cant blame him
Its one thing for your team to be accussed of cheating and winning Its another to be accussed of cheating and not winning

Kimi for Ferrarri??? Jenson for ferrarri ??? maybe Mad mal stands a chance to wreck a red horse next year

You must be having a laugh?

Whatever passes for a strategy dept. should be sacked forthwith!

A blind man and his dog would have known to keep Jenson out and keep Vettel's blood pressure up!

I still say he wasnt lucky
After the dummy pit stop to clear senna he should have refused the stratergy given but he is a committed team player and thought he would be out in clean air It wasnt jensons stratergy and his luck let him down he didnt fluke it and was dumped into traffic that screwed up his race
I agree I have no idea how the stratergy was going to work and I reckon someone was gambling on tyre degregation that was clearly not relative to Hungary as the tyres were hanging on longer that thought possable

Maldanardo has been practising for the second half of F1
On a demo run in venezuela he spun hit a curb and destroyed the rear suspension
Of course it was the venezuela council to blame

Mad Mal third on the grid could be a fun race, just has to get round Koby, has all the hall marks of disaster
Plenty have a lot to prove and spa can sort out the pack

Massa hasnt improved his seat holding postion either

definitly have the safety car ready after turn one with the front of the grid as it is!

yeah that was a bit of a heavy bash!

Mad Mal is now alonso's and hamys problem after his 3 position drop for giving hulk an impere at the bus stop

Alonso is on the move already all those infront of him are way behind him in the championship

Really looking forward to this, and next week's at Monza. A couple of real circuits.

scary though!

Grosjean - "I haven't seen the footage.." Err we saw you watching it earlier..

thats what i thought, i think his "i havent seen it" was more an admission of fault but at the same time a clever way of saying "i dont really want to talk about it"

excellent win for button

One race ban. Good.

I'm the opposite, given the penalties that Maldonado has got away with the in the last year and a bit for purposefully driving into other people. this seems very harsh. 10 place grid drop, empty his pockets of loose change and send him in the general direction of specsavers would be a more appropriate punishment rather than a race ban.

Definitely needs a penalty, and a one race ban seems fair for the accident it caused - but then the stewards needs to give serious penalties to other drivers too. Mad Maldonado, springs to mind...

maldonado has been gifted a 5 place grid penalty for the jump start and 5 places for crashing into glock on the restart.

i bet by the end of the season if you applied all of pastors grid penalties on top of each other hed probably be so far behind the grid he'd be just infront of the pole spot....
