Interesting race
Red bulls fighting each other along with the Marussia's dueling
Schu giving seb a seat clenching moment into the pits
Mad mal keeping his reputation alive, should start back of the pack Monza giving plenty of time for the safety car to get out
Kimi like wow Grosjohn oh s..t Maybe ambrosia (but I doubt it) will be good at Monza
How did webber miss hitting massa in the pit
Poor old Alonso, looked visably shaken after a lotus ufo landed on him

Roll on Monza this has to be a classic season

with the schu/vettel pit entrance, i think Vettel was going to go in there, but stayed out to get track position

Its possable, but for the first time I think the bbc let us down they didnt show all the bits you wanted to see
Mad mal 's missing wing ? where what Had to look on the net to find he had adhered to glock
there where various passing moves that were talked about but never seen
Nice shots of jessica and nichole plus a lingering shot (twice) of Alonso sat in his chair Oh and of course Jensons dad really interesting

shots of the pits as to who is out there and who isnt might have been helpful instead but maybe I am asking too much

You were right Matty
Red Bull Racing admitted to the stewards that their instruction to the driver of car #1 [Vettel] was to 'do the opposite of car #7 [Schumacher]'. Therefore when car #7 headed for the pit entry car #1 aborted its entry to the pits," said the officials' statement

Horner just put it down to a racing incident when he was interviewed, could have been a little less economic with the truth

from the rear the vettel schumacher shot looked as if schumacher chopped vettel on the way into the pits, whereas the front shot clearly showed schumacher was clear of vettel and had they both continued into the pits all would have been well, vettel then slammed on the brakes, changed direction and spun his wheels back across the track,

it looked like a chop but wasnt.

Reports on the BBC that Hamilton is set to join Mercedes next year, would certainly chime in with the "Schumacher Retiring" stuff over the weekend.

Only a rumour it seems with Eddie Jordan saying its happening but he was spot on when Mercedes brought back Schumacher even when everyone else said he was an idiot.

... telemetry traces posted on Twitter ... Whitmarsh said on TV 'don't worry; no further action; it's all over"

Didn't smell like a happy re-negotiating situation to me!

If it was all to come about who would partner Jenson
who can be ruled out assuming wont go for a rookie from outside
Ferrari only massa could be free and I dont think so
Red Bull all settled
Caterham nope i wouldnt think so
Marussia same
HRT Pedro de slim chance
Torro rossa nope dont see it
Williams god help us
Lotus Grojohn no chance Kimi seems settled but liked Macs before the tempt might be there but if they cant afford hamy who knows
Sauber Perez or koby dont see it
Force di resta has he got it, good but still not there yet Could be a good wing man for Jenson
I reckon it could be a bumpy ride for the macs if hammy leaves Jenson is only good when things go his way He aint an Alonso

You haven't mentioned any of McLaren's reserve drivers.

Di Resta would be the only replacement for me at McLaren, can't see others going there, just like I can't see Lewis leaving but you never know

Time will tell

You haven't mentioned any of McLaren's reserve drivers.

Its all hyperthetical could just be one of Bernies rouses
But if it came about I reckon Paul Di Resta 1st choice, Pedro de la Rosa next
then Oliver or Gary I know little of them to form an opinion other than what I can read, but I reckon maclarean do

Hamilton's an ass ,great driver though!!, sooner McLaren get rid the better, imagine posting on Twitter technical information about the team .

Who will replace him...?

Di resta ?

Remember hammy hasnt signed a contract yet and his managment team know all about celebrity status and publicity the twitter could just be part of the game to up the anti
Remember mercedes hasnt signed the concord agreement yet and Bernie is brilliant at negotiating incentives
This rumour has to be taken serious as it came from EJ Bernies F1 blurt (who told us about the return of Schui) and Jenson has been screwing with Hamys head for 2 seasons now
What about a straight swop Nico Rosberg to mac's and hamy to mercs
Schui and hammy in the same team. I doubt it but its an intresting idea

You could be right about Rosberg, di resta to Mercedes then ;-)

With regards to the Schuey / Vettel pit entrance... It looked worse than it was.
Schuey was past Seb.. Then Seb cut back across last moment to do the opposite of MS..
They showed the Red Bull pit guys were out waiting for him :)

i cant beleive that EJit managed to get so much traction with his 'inside scoop' - this is a man who has been claiming schumachers retirement since he came back, he got found out in court over the vodaphone sponsorship contract etc etc. cant stand the man, and dont watch BBC because i have the urge to through stuff at the tv when hes on..

i cant beleive that EJit managed to get so much traction with his 'inside scoop' ..

Its because it reportably came from bernie, who dosnt do anything without a financial reason
Plus there is loads of circumstantial reasons
The only ones of which that dont stack up is whats in it for hammy
A car and team that dosnt fulfil its promises
A 5 million pay rise (if you belive the hype) when you are mentioned in the high paid sportsman tables is it significant
A team that is liable to be AMG backed not directly Mercedes
He can keep his trophies whoopie
Haugh and brawn to look after his tantrums and dummy spitting That seems daunting
Its all down to shu if he hangs on to till the V6's then its same again next year

The team is already Mercedes-AMG. AMG is a 100% owned Daimler brand, as is Mercedes.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did leave, but we'll see. I'm looking forward to the race this weekend.

I've had a cheeky few quid on Hamilton to do the Q3/Race treble.....If he can keep out of harms way, I reckon he could dominate this weekend!!

If he's currently negotiating with any of the teams (which seems very likely given all the pit lane talk/rumours) then he'll want to impress this weekend.....he's never won round Monza before though!!

.

It was an article about Mercedes distancing themselves from direct involvement in F1
It would seem one of the reasons they havnt signed the concord agreement is Bernie's involvement in the bribery charge in Germany
Daimler will not do buisness with the like, its there rules and only a small minority high in mercedes want F1
The suggestion was to remove the Mercedes name and leave the team AMG and become F1 engine sellers only Then the inferance was to sell the team to another party
There is a lot of talk about unrest in Daimler about F1
For mercedes Hamilton moving there if shu left would be a gift
Schu is still king in germany and that can sell silver mercs
Atop line name like Hammy would be nearly as good
Who knows till the day

Monza looks another guess who can win race and it probably wont be the one you thought it would be
This seasons still a classic

What's everyones prediction for todays race?!

I'm sticking with Hamilton in first place.....just hope he gets the fastest race lap too = £££!!

How does Alonso do it (apart from skill)
A race that looks a dead duck for him down in tenth Then everybody who should finnish runs out of reliability or tyres
Grass tracking at nearly double ton speeds (pay back?) and he ends up 3rd and extends his lead
I bet not many bet on him being on the podium (exception alonsoites)

Can't stand the twit, but through gritted teeth I'll concede he's the best driver on the grid at the moment.....if he wins the title this year, he'll have earnt it!!

Hows this for luck
from pat fry

"Then there was the incident when Fernando went off the track in his duel with Vettel: once the telemetry was working again, we spotted there was something not quite right at the rear, so in the final laps, we asked him to be cautious, avoiding the kerbs. When the car was in parc ferme, I have to say we could see the damage was quite bad, also affecting the aerodynamics."

Does anybody think the title will be settled before they get to Brazil? Or will it go to the last race?
I've just been asked if I want to go. :D:D

My opinion of him has changed 100%. Obviously I see a lot more of him in the pre race programming, and he's changed a lot since the McLaren debacle. As a driver he is the most complete by far and has more than earned his place as championship leader.
Antena3 interviewed Kimi this weekend. He came across ruder and more ignorant than ever.

Alonso is a winning underdog
He started this year, not really liked by the majority
He drives a car that straight out of the box was a dog
He has luck that has held through out the season equal to his skill
monza was just typical, starts from tenth with a broken car ends up 3rd with a broken car, His main contenders for the title fall by the wayside and he extends his points
Anyone any idea how he drove at 180 on the grass and didnt seem to loose any ground That was awsome
No wonder he seems relaxed no one seems to believe he is doing what he is
and they arnt applying the pressure because they havent expected him to keep it up
Its coming though, once the press realise the underdog is going to take the title about 3 races from the end
If the macs and the saubers keep up the pace If lotus come strong again, although they have a history of fadeing, Red bulls may be wounded but not discounted, those last three races should be edge of seaters
Kimi is kimi you gotta laugh

Not normally one for the RIP posts but just found out (somewhat ironically after watching Grand Prix: The Killer Years on iPlayer) of the passing of Professor Sid Watkins

His contribution to F1 is one we as fans will always be indebted to, especially the work put in after the death of Senna. Without the work that he put in and his continued presence in the sport we would be poorer without him, especially when it comes to thinking about Hakkinen's crash in Adelaide.

Not a great believer in an afterlife nor am I a particularity religious man, however I would like to think that he is currently fishing alongside Senna right now.

That is a terrible shame. His autobiography was a good read.
He may not have been able to save Senna or Ratzenburger in 1994. But his work has without doubt helped many others since.

Without Professor Sid Watkins direct medical attention as well as his work on general safety we would have lost countless more drivers, marshals and spectators.

He may have passed but his legacy will remain.

I reckon (well, wish) - Hamilton to Merc, Schumacer to stay one more season (then we can see who is best), Rosberg to Force India and Hulkenberg to Maclaren.

Round about swap I know, but I think Hulkenberg is worth much more than a drive for FI

Maclaren making an approach to perez, well so the rumours say, could be they are being pushed hard by the money men in hammys management, could be whitmarsh moves first and dosnt renew hammys contract
and if shcu carries on instead of retireing you could be right about moving rosberg out Sectionate and popping Hammy in (60mill is an awfully good pay package) Bit hard on Nico unless he gets massa's seat

All the stars on the front of the grid with Mad Mal, looking like fun
If practise and qually is anything to go by should be a few wall bangs out there in the race

Hmmmmmmmm....................

If Hamilton was umming and ahing, today might have helped him decide.

Ten place penalty for Schumacher for taking out Vergne, and his wiping out of Senna in Spain was also taken into account.

i cant see that merc can give hamilton anything other than more cash.

Di Resta didn't do himself any harm today, nice 4th place today
