Thanks for taking the time to do these updates. It can't be easy when there is less than 48 hours between gameweeks.

Time to press the panic button methinks. The clue is when the host claps you for beating the average :ROFLMAO:

The axe will be swung this week and new blood brought in. I know that Keith does this nearly every week, but it was a big decision for me.

I hope I have clapped everyone who has beat AVERAGE. That is my aim anyway. It is an amusing banana skin, and I miss it when we have an equal number of players in the H2H league.

Too late. I'm now committed to the transfer market. It's got so serious that I'm even contemplating bringing in Everton players for their dgw :p

I hope you are not getting their defenders, because if Liverpool are on a roll, it could negate their second game. ;)

Watch Liverpool now lose to Everton! :$ Not often in recent years, but it has happened. ;)

Someone in work said it was the highlight of their season when they beat Liverpool. So sad, but after not winning for so long, as well as the points deduction stuff, I can see what they meant. They weren't going far in the cups.

If Slott started with his substitutes 'Pool would be 20 points clear by now :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, 2 blue and 3 red players getting double chance of points is what I'm banking on. Leicester at home plus their 2 points from the derby is worth a punt for cheap Everton defenders. Let's face it, the expensive defenders aren't doing that well this year! The Big at the Back bandwagon has faltered. And my Chelsea players, Palmer excepted, are not getting the points that their performances would deserve. I'm fancying Amad as the fifth midfielder and saving a bit of cash back to buy an assistant manager if any double gameweeks throw up tasty fixtures.

Just about clinging onto top spot this gw :(

Hopefully Chambolica Charente V3.0 will do better from next week. :help:

Another loss in H2H for me, another brave [I guess] captaincy choice from my opponent, once again Salah lets me down. Also having a player with 8pts on the bench sucks. But I'm sure many had similar.

I was hoping for a bit of an edge from Palmer as both other popular captains failed. But he did too. Didn't help having Jota and Enzo knocking sick. Hopefully the new boys will shine.

It has been a strange season with City's collapse and several teams playing beyond their expectations. When you look at the player's points tallies there aren't many of the regular top scorers doing well. Maybe there is now too much competition for the clubs that are successful and therefore have to play more games? A lot more players are out injured this year, possibly because of that? Squads are larger too creating rotation issues for us. And modern technology gives answers to many tactical problems that previously only the smart managers could solve. There seems to be a general levelling up of the playing field club wise.

It may be that we have to adapt to the current situation rather than hope it will revert to what worked best in the past?

Fiendishly Bad!!!(39) have gained another 10 points on leader Chambolica Charente(29), and are now 12 points behind.

Amber Army(37) move up into 3rd, 17 points behind Fiendishly Bad!!!, and 2 ahead of Klopp-Slot Boom!(35), who drop to 4th. Biggin Bangers(35) stay in 5th, and are 12 points behind. The top 5 are pretty close to each other.

The highest scorers of the week were Woody's wonders  and Banished to Riyadh :clap:with 56 points.

The average point score for the week was 46.

There are European games this week, so the deadline for making changes Sat 25th Jan @13:30.

In the Head2Head league, New Oak Utd still lead by 4 points despite losing against Mrs Smith's Boys 35-40, because 2nd placed Klopp-Slot Boom! also lost their H2H against Fiendishly Bad!!! 35-39.

Chambolica Charente beat horspath hounds in a close match up 29-28, to move to up into 3rd, now 3 points behind Klopp-Slot Boom! Also on the same points, after winning against Tarric Terrors 56-27, are Woody's wonders, now in 4th.

Biggin Bangers lost against Banished to Riyadh 56-3, and drop to 5th, 2 points behind Woody's wonders.

Asteriskter Citeh* lost against AVERAGE 34-46. :$

Next to take on AVERAGE is Tarric Terrors. Māuruuru roa. ;)

I can't quite believe that I won the H2H with 29 points. Apologies to Brian.

25 point bench this week Clive… ouch :exit:

:ROFLMAO: nearly as many points as all 11 got last week.

Can't grumble though. 66 with 4 left to play and Palmer still on the field.

I made 4 changes this week, and Kluivert was one of them. I was hoping he would continue his good form, and he did. :)

Liverpool let me down by conceding near the end. Could have had more than the 2 points I got from van Dijk.

I've got more points this week than last week, and I still have 3 players to play. :)

I had a benching problem and went the wrong way. I was then hoping that Palmer woudn't play and let the Bournemouth man in. Like you the tractor boys' goal cost about 8 points including treble clean sheets & Trent's bonus points. A last minute change saw me swapping Gordon, Diaz & Wissa to Mbueno, Rogers & Gakpo. I hope that works out.

Despite a "benching problem", ;) Chambolica Charente(73) extend their lead at the top to 28 points from Fiendishly Bad!!!(57).

Klopp-Slot Boom!(72) move up to 3rd place, just 4 points behind Fiendishly Bad!!!, swapping places with Amber Army(67) who are now 4th, just 3 points further back. Biggin Bangers(49) stay in 5th.

Highest scorer of the week was Chambolica Charente with 73.

Average score for the week was 59.

European games again this week, so no Friday games, so the deadline for making changes is Sat 1st Feb @11:00.

In the Head2Head league, I didn't realise it was a top of the table clash  :$ as leader New Oak Utd and Klopp-Slot Boom! went H2H and the leader lost 57-72. Klopp-Slot Boom! are now just 1 point behind.

Still in 3rd place, 3 points behind are Chambolica Charente, after beating Amber Army 73-67.

Biggin Bangers move up into 4th, 2 points further back, and winning against Warrington Town 49-42.

Woody's wonders drop to 5th after being beaten by Penfold's Dangermice 57-53.

Tarric Terrors lost to AVERAGE 52-69.

The next to take on AVERAGE are Mrs Smith's Boys. Cо среќа. ;)

Anybody fancying playing the Assistant Manager chip? I have reservations in that the best 3 gameweek scores of any manager so far this season is only around 40 points. The average is around 15 20 points. It seems like a lot of uncertainty for the money involved. I keep having a look at each team's fixtures, but am not yet fully convinced that it will be a worthwhile option unless some double game weeks crop up.

It seems like a lot of added complexity added on for very little gain imho. They have something that works, why tinker with it too much. I don't think I'll be bothering with it.

I've gone for it, already used triple cap, and I guess if I was betting ... even though they're not exactly easy matches, I see 'Pool take 2 w's

You are braver man than I am Keith. Bon courage mon ami :)

I think when you're in the bottom half you got to take some chances :)

Fair enough. But if you would be happy with two wins from four games you could have gone with Moyes at a third of the cost.

You might be onto a winner Keith. If 'pool beat Spuds on agregate next week they will have another double gameweek in gw25. That gives you five matches for your Assistant Manager chip. Not just you, but thousands of others too. :(

I never, ever thought that I would say this, but; "COYS!" :ROFLMAO:

Best of luck! :)

I couldn't justify the cost when it was 4 games and had already made the transfer in of a 3rd Everton player by the time the double gw 25 news was announced. I have three blues and three reds with Salah as captain. Once the cup ties are settled I might downgrade Gabriel to free up funds for an AM chip from gw25 onwards. What happens mid-week will also impact on gw 29 when the finalists will not be playing.

Mixed bag from the first game for me, a whopping 7-0 to Forest against Brighton. :$ Got 14 points for Wood, but have Sels and Aina on the bench with another 14 points between them.

That's called serendipity or what goes round comes round :ROFLMAO:

You might like to know, as my H2H opponent, that I also left Aina on the bench

Looks like only one player in our league went for triple cap on Salah! And only 2 of us used the Manager chip, both choosing slot - I actually went to triple cap Salah only to find I'd already used it :headbang:

Keith, you can't use any chips along with the AM. But you can transfer the AM if for example Liverpool don't have a dgw in 25, but say Arsenal do.

I meant I was going to use triple cap, but when I found I'd used it I just went for the manager chip. 10pts for slot so far, not too shabby, better than all of my players beside Salah and Wood

Well, I'm on 68 points with 10 players left to play :ROFLMAO: You've got to love these double gameweeks :)

65 here, with 5 to play. I only brought in one Everton player [Ndiaye], for Pedro and that worked out ok so far, he got a goal. Biggest mistake this week was leaving Aina on the bench but coming off a 5-0 defeat as a defender, who know they'd go turn around get a CS and win 7-0!? lol
