Daily Sonriendo's 365 - Finished and thank flickerty for that :D

I rather like the non eye contact in this to be honest! It's a lovely shot and very exciting to have taken them too :-)

TBH it was the first one on Lightroom when I opened it just now  A random non-chucker :D

FGS woman, how many times do I have to tell you to change your flipping thread title? How am I meant to know you have a new photo up? You think I flip over one of my tarot cards or something??? :gag::naughty::lol:

I like it and actually love that he's looking of and away from you...maybe the Mother, rightly, thinks it's more of a candid shot with an expression of looking towards his own future (or whatever she may have thought) than just staring straight into the lens which, to be honest, any member of his family could have done...

Good shot, nice DOF, well focused....nothing I'd be unhappy with on this one, to be honest.

ETA - that kid might well be a noisy little basket, in which case I apologise for my earlier comments!! LOL

Sorry - I do try to remember - it would be easier if everyone did it - cut down on unnecessary clicking ;)

Thank you though, actually he's quite a little cutie ;)

Expected no less from you ;)

Hay, Sarah, don't forget tomorrow to change to 'Changed it for Sam V2'!!!:lol:

I like it & I'm sure you've plenty of good shots if that one is typical, nice light & DOF.

Hmmm never thought if changing thread title. Must try to do that in future.

I like it, he's a very photogenic lad.

Anyway, how do you change the thread title? I don't seem to be able to find out how, unless I'm being a complete numpty.

Thank you, he did get bored after a while :)

Go to the first post of your thread, click edit, then click go advanced and you can do it from there :)

So, thought I'd try a Whipspeed - now you have to work with what you've got - so freesia from garden and a complete bodge to get it to stay upright  What do you think?

Long way to go

LOL, trying a whipspeed, like it :)

Actually, the biggest problem with this sort of photography is getting the blasted things into position, I've used blue tac, masking tape, clips, bits of kitchen roll folded up & stuffed in the gaps & all sorts :) What I would have done here is just cropped to the top of the cork & lost some space above the flower so you couldn't see the workings :)

I love the colour of the background, it contrasts well with the yellow of the flower, but on my monitor here in the office, it looks a bit noisy & the yellow is very bright, I might have been tempted to take the yellow channel down a bit & use some noise reduction to smooth a little. Hope you don't mind my rambings?

As for having freesias in the garden!!! at this time of year!!!! Grrrrrr.

It's bright and noisy on my screen also! It's a good attempt however!

Yes, much, the detail has come out more now, I'd still crop more off the top to balance it, but there is a lot more detail in it. Don't know if you use photoshop, but if this is a RAW shot, try taking down the yellow channel when you process it, then in photoshop, have a play with the shadow & highlight sliders, you can get an almost HDR feel to it, without the cartoon effect that can sometimes happen.

2nd looks much better! Good attempt works for me :-)

The second looks better, but I quite like the cork in a strange way! You like your wine red?

Better indeed!

Thanks Jake :)

It's funny how you can look at these things sometimes and know there's something wrong, but not recall what to do to improve it - because I shot as ISO 100 i'd never have though of it being noisy

I mostly use Lightroom 4, I've practically forgotten how to use PS since I went over to Lightroom2 all those years ago :$

Thank you

Thats a cork(er) of a shot :coat:
:D

Indeed

Yep much better  very nice :)

Thanks

Sarah I like the 2nd shot indeed !

Thank you Vince

Red wine in the winter - it's far too cold for stuff that comes out of the fridge :D

The way you talk about salad, fruit and ice cream I didn't even think you have a fridge!! Good to know technology extends your way!!:lol:

much prefer the crop in the second...the cork was making me reach for the bottle myself.... though mine are screw top as the cooking sherry is that strong. great detail in the centre of the flowers

Gorgeous Sarah but what a situation! Looks like you pulled it out the bag :D

edit - didn't see the other shot! Love it :D The colour of the bg works really well!

Some technology - we need two fridges in the summer one for the beer :D

It was quite strange Toni - but hey ho - turned out to be quite fun :)

More flowers a bit of a filler really the single flower is the shot - but I wanted to show it in perspective too. Last year this was about twice the size - fortunately a savage pruning didn't kill it off :)

Ooh nice filler Sarah! Love the golden BG in the single flower

I always like the flowers Sarah, and everything needs a savage pruning now and again.

The single flower stands on it's own very well and, whilst I like to see the context, I would prefer the photos separated....the flower is really good on it's own!

I shall do that next time ;)

Well, tonight Charlotte has an end of term concert and when I saw her practicing her flute - I decided that would do for today :D

Will try to catch up with everyone's threads later this evening, but what with work and the concert, I might not make it until over the weekend sometime ;)

Good use of an opportunity as it arises Sarah! Thats nice with a nice reflection in her eye.
The blown bits on the left are a wee bit distracting though.
