It's a shame he's not making eye contact!
He is in some of them - but for some obscure reason the mother didn't want him looking at the camera all the time

I rather like the non eye contact in this to be honest! It's a lovely shot and very exciting to have taken them too![]()
A random non-chucker

ETA - that kid might well be a noisy little basket, in which case I apologise for my earlier comments!! LOL

FGS woman, how many times do I have to tell you to change your flipping thread title? How am I meant to know you have a new photo up? You think I flip over one of my tarot cards or something???
I like it and actually love that he's looking of and away from you...maybe the Mother, rightly, thinks it's more of a candid shot with an expression of looking towards his own future (or whatever she may have thought) than just staring straight into the lens which, to be honest, any member of his family could have done...
Good shot, nice DOF, well focused....nothing I'd be unhappy with on this one, to be honest.

I like it, he's a very photogenic lad.
Anyway, how do you change the thread title? I don't seem to be able to find out how, unless I'm being a complete numpty.
Thanks Sarah, I shall do that nowor at least try to
Edit - I did it! LOL
LOL, trying a whipspeed, like it
Actually, the biggest problem with this sort of photography is getting the blasted things into position, I've used blue tac, masking tape, clips, bits of kitchen roll folded up & stuffed in the gaps & all sortsWhat I would have done here is just cropped to the top of the cork & lost some space above the flower so you couldn't see the workings
I love the colour of the background, it contrasts well with the yellow of the flower, but on my monitor here in the office, it looks a bit noisy & the yellow is very bright, I might have been tempted to take the yellow channel down a bit & use some noise reduction to smooth a little. Hope you don't mind my rambings?
As for having freesias in the garden!!! at this time of year!!!! Grrrrrr.
- now you have to work with what you've got - so freesia from garden and a complete bodge to get it to stay uprightWhat do you think?

Yep much betterBetter?
Better indeed!
Yes, much, the detail has come out more now, I'd still crop more off the top to balance it, but there is a lot more detail in it. Don't know if you use photoshop, but if this is a RAW shot, try taking down the yellow channel when you process it, then in photoshop, have a play with the shadow & highlight sliders, you can get an almost HDR feel to it, without the cartoon effect that can sometimes happen.
2nd looks much better! Good attempt works for me![]()
Thats a cork(er) of a shot
Indeed
Yep much bettervery nice
Sarah I like the 2nd shot indeed !
The second looks better, but I quite like the cork in a strange way!You like your wine red?
![]()
Your second take is really nice Sarah, like that a lot.
Red wine in the winter - it's far too cold for stuff that comes out of the fridge![]()

The way you talk about salad, fruit and ice cream I didn't even think you have a fridge!! Good to know technology extends your way!!![]()
much prefer the crop in the second...the cork was making me reach for the bottle myself.... though mine are screw top as the cooking sherry is that strong. great detail in the centre of the flowers
Gorgeous Sarah but what a situation! Looks like you pulled it out the bag
edit - didn't see the other shot! Love itThe colour of the bg works really well!
I like the single shot![]()
The single shot is lovely. I like the composition. Pretty good for a filler shot![]()
Ooh nice filler Sarah! Love the golden BG in the single flower
The single flower stands on it's own very well and, whilst I like to see the context, I would prefer the photos separated....the flower is really good on it's own!
