Yes
Wear odd socks instead of sorting them into pairs, as my 17 year old says "why must they match"

Teach children that it's OK to play outdoors, and that direct sunlight on their skin will not kill them, any more than turning off the X-Box will.

Odd socks are the norm in our house.
Has been fof a while now, since the dog chews socks on a daily basis.

"Every old sock, needs an old shoe" (Moments of pleasure, Kate Bush)

Wearing odd socks and not giving a damn what people think about that, is healthy for your state of mind. If you do find you give a damn, you might be respecting more superficial things than the people you admire for being laid back.

Oooooh you've never washed them have you? They always come out a different shade!

Arrrrrrrrrrh ! I went down the road of buying a supply of "identical" black socks from M&S. I now have a drawer full of socks that are all different.

Women do fart!

make driving on the left compulsory in every country.! came across a weird figure 8 roundabout in south of france many years back. totally threw me.. went round first part ok but second part i went round wrong way! would have been ok if was driving on the left in first place

wear jesus creepers ( sandals to those who've not heard that term ).. then no need for socks. ( anyone wearing socks and sandals together needs putting before a firing squad ! )
Any man wearing sandals, flip flops, crocs etc. needs shooting.

@ST4 is back! Another mystery resolved :)

Ps. I do like my sandals, no socks and not combined with a suit. And I love my thongs. Perfect comfy summer footwear.

That actually happened to me. I call it the cowards shot. And no, I will not provide photographic evidence, nobody would want to see that.

Tbh and speaking from experience, the suffering is not that long.

death by wet kipper slaps to the face. administered by the "other" morris men ( terry pratchett readers would understand that one )

You've been shot in the bum?

Yes, very long time ago. By a friend in an orchid. Hit me in the bum :(

Been shot at a few more times since, but luckily they missed.

I didn't think thongs would be any good as footwear o_O

They are brilliant, most people I know wear them.

Were you wearing a thong at the time?

Thongs are flip flops- its an Aussie thing.

Another problem - Australia is a great country but the Aussies know it:)

No they are not. Thongs are strips of leather like laces that were used for whipping and tying things up, or items of womens underwear.
Calling them footwear, just like flip flops themselves is just wrong on all levels.

My daughters school had very strict rules about uniform and all socks must be black.

She wore odd coloured socks every day she attended (she has left now).

I really don't know where all the odd socks go though. When I moved house a few years ago and sorted through my sock drawer I found twenty three socks from which I couldn't make a single matching pair.

Hold on, you mean you have to wash socks?

Once a year whether they need it or not (same as underpants).

Steve.

And the third definition is a light sandal or flip flop. Deal with it.

Oh yes they are ;) bit of cultural awareness wouldn't go amiss.

I did the same thing but with socks from TM Lewin. They're all stick the same shade of black. I guess M&S quality isn't what it used to be...

My running socks have "left" and "right" on them. So even 2 that match may not be a pair. What fresh hell is this?

Lewins is a good store. I buy mine from Tesco and they are all slightly different shades of black, but I do not care as they were cheap.

Pays your money, makes your choices.
