Street scene - Verona by Simon Hiscocks, on FlickrAh fair doosHmmmmm... an ok shot but needs the most difficult part of the genre. Get closer!
Thanks Paul. Tweaked it a bit so nice to hear I probably got it right(ish)Nice handling of the contrast in the scene.
Thanks Ryan. Yes, I see what you mean. I’ll have a play around when I get back from hols along those lines. Good shout.Good take and handling of the bright conditions. I kinda feel like the light post creates 2 separate shots between the bench people and the steps people, potential crops perhaps?
Thanks Bill - not used to that sort of intimate candid stuff so need to practice.I think that I agree with most of the comments, I would have tried to focus on either the people on the bench or the group in the doorway. Maybe using a sneakier "shoot from the hip" technique.
It's not too intimidating because no-one knows that you're taking the shot. You set up your expected focal distance ahead of time with a f-stop that will give some depth of field and then have your camera down at your side pointing in their general direction and take a few shots as you walk by....easy/peasy...I might get one good shot out of 30 or 40...Thanks Bill - not used to that sort of intimate candid stuff so need to practice.

Thanks AllanIts a very calming image, nice colour in the posts the reflections are nice.
Cheers BillNice shot Simon, I'm always looking for old piers and mooring posts to shoot. These would be good ones.

Bike (belonging to a cafe) near Cisano by Simon Hiscocks, on FlickrWell spotted! Bang on theme - not a cheat at all.
Thanks Bill. It’s outside a small cafe by the lake called “Pink”Good shot, love the way that the old bike has been repurposed.
Thanks Keith. Yep, cafe same colour.Well even if it were a cheat it's vey nice, like how the flower and bike colours are similar, probably same colour in cafe?
