That'll work. As a fussy whisky lover, I steer clear of Laphroaig (in fact most peaty whisky's). Tastes too much like burnt tyres for me, although I accept that's probably heresy and that a 34 year old would probably be much smoother than the standard stock you see!
 
Mmmmmmm burnt tyres! Oooooh I'd have a go at that :) Vintage is between 30 and 100 years old so it qualifies :)

Just ticked the box, I did hear on the tour that the oldest aged whisky was 85 years!

Well done! I have been reducing my intake too and I can't say I miss it really.
 
I wanted to try something that showed time slipping away, so I set up my watch on the desk and tried to capture a ghostly hand reaching for it. It took a bit of fiddling around and many, many pictures to get the right amount of blur for what I was hoping for.

I couldn't find my old analogue watch, so I had to use my Apple watch instead. The hardest part was actually trying to stop the watch face from blowing out! After a few attempts and a lot of underexposing and Lightroom work, I eventually got something that felt close to what I’d imagined. I didn’t want to reshoot the whole thing, so I’ve left it as it is. Sometimes, you have to call time ;).

I’m quite pleased with how the motion came out, and I hope it gets the idea across well enough.

The Laphroaig looks tasty and the watch shot blur works nicely despite the distracting background.

Really like the blurring of the second hand - I like it when photos reveal more to you as you study them - I initially thought 'nice shot', but then the eye was drawn to the passing time - nicely done!
 
A little catch-up is needed here. It’s worrying how quickly these weeks seem to pass sometimes.

I struggled a little to think of an interesting picture for the Inspired by Song theme. The weather has been nothing but rain today, so I tried to capture Purple Rain by Prince by taking pictures of raindrops on the window using a purple filter and flash. None of the photos really worked, but then I noticed that beyond the raindrops was a brick wall. That gave me the idea of Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) by Pink Floyd.

Taken handheld with a macro lens through the window, so it could definitely have been better, but I’m happy enough with how it turned out.


Week 10 Song by Simon Brown

The theme for week 11 came to mind fairly quickly and, with a bit of setup and burst mode, I was quite pleased with how this turned out too. A plain white background rather than a sheet of A4 paper would probably improve it, but it’s all part of the learning process.

Two good shots there, the red drop in the glass has worked really quite well. Yes a purr white background would have lifted the image a bit. I also think a close up shot, just of the drop in water, without the glass would look good too.
 
Two good shots. I have tried the ink(?) in water thing in the past, and it is surprisingly difficult.
 
The red ink s*** works well maybe a closer shot might work better
 
Good shots - the ink particularly. I did something similar a couple of years ago, and as @Boots said, it's hard to get it right, but you've nailed it.

Thanks, I used red food colouring and a syringe to do the drops.

It took a few attempts, and burst mode was particularly helpful! I used red food colouring for this one.

Both bang on theme. I think the ink shot works fine with the mottled background. Pure white would be a different shot, but it's nice as it is.
 
Good to see the Floyd making another contribution
The ink in the wine glass tells me that I need to try more experimentation, great picture
