That's a good take on the theme. I like the trouble someone has gone to with painting transoms and mullions on the boarding.

Yes, other angles were probably available, but this was taken from the pavement and it was still raining hard! Plus, knowing my luck someone would shout at me for hopping over the wall.
 
Love the fact that they've painted the window boards. We usually just have raw plywood nailed over openings where I am.
 
I imagine that was a lovely building some time since. I like your processing - it does suit the subject.
 
That's a good find, as others have noted there are many points of interest, I like your choice of colours, very natural looking.
 
Lovely building some time ago.. Works for the theme and processing suits the shot, feel the same about going over the wall for the angle :)

Yep it would be at that exact moment the police would turn up!
 
Washed out works much better than B&W here, brings out the painted windows.
 
Had this shot in mind when I saw the theme pop up, I had tried a different bulb that I didn't need, only to find that its shell was made of plastic (didn't check) and the hammer merely dented it! So a spare glass bulb was sacrificed for the sake of art. I was quite pleased with how it broke and I tried various angles and settings before settling for this one. I was very tempted to try in black and white, but I thought my last few pictures were already devoid of colour.

No doubt I will need this spare bulb later!

It works great in colour, the yellow filaments jump out against the red of the BG.

Thanks, I try not to think how much the bulb cost! I think it may have been on the higher end due to those filaments.

You should have seen my face after the first hit. Hitting it a few more times with minor frustration was probably amusing to watch!
 
I'm liking this shot a lot. Great colours and composition.
 
Glad you didnt stand on it, the focus and DOF is really enticing.
 
A really striking shot - the yellow focus point draws the eye in to the photo and then the broken glass provides the context.
 
This is probably a bit of a cheat, but it is a rainy day indoors when having a nice warm shower. I've not had a chance to go out with the camera this week, and when I have, it hasn't been raining!

This was taken between two shower puffs (I think that's what they are called) I quite liked the colours they added, quick tweak in lightroom and that's this week's picture done. In fact, I will go as far as to say the shower head is framed by the puffs and tick the box for the tech too!

Great idea Simon, and really well executed. I don't know that I'd have been able to think of something so creative.
 
Well, you have to do what you can.
It's comes out quite well, the 2 puffs do help to focus the eye on the showerhead.
