Some of the pictures posted have not only been good but have been inspirationally so, thanks guys I'm of out with the camera to try and emulate some of this good stuff.

Crown Graphic / Ilford FP4

Here are two that I took to test developing using the jobo, I love the tones xtol gives and no more streaks!!!!! I can now finally work on composition.

A few more here..

I owe a big thanks to Ed (Edtog) who gave me loads of times/temperatures as they worked a charm

These really are beautifully toned, I may live to regret opting for 160C as my colour iption!

Thank you.

That was the old Porta I have a couple of new Porta 400 rolls that I have yet to use.
Need to finish some Porta 160 off and compare the colours.

Knikki, loving the colours. A great set of images.

Top of the pier***

Amazing....your shots are the same as a typical UK beach ;)

Well I took this shot because the field look so green, erm but Asda didn't do a good job with the scans and I've forgotten what the greens were like, Oh well one advantage of seeing the results straight away on a digital camera ;)

It's amazing how this supermarket low scan still looked good on cropping on Reala film

Yep, I see pier pics from all over the world and they are all about the same.

don't take it like that . I was thinking the same. as there is a place in UK that is just like it . and brighton beach in usa looked very similar as well I think.

More boring flowers

Not at all boring, there is an art to shooting flowers and those are pretty sweet, a bit shallow but the colours and bokeh are lovely.

Olympus iS-100 zSLR....

Interesting shot of the balloons/buildings Victor, not sure if that teleconverter hurts sharpness or not though

Nice pond Brian, I would venture to say that there is a big ole pile of magenta in that scan though.

Time to lower the bar some more....

No way, that's a fine portrait Javier, Delta really worked well for you there in the midday sun.

Taken with the ETRS on Delta 400

Like it , maybe you should try a filter or two on b/w scapes.

Checking out the side of the pier :)

Yeah...fabulous bone structure on that......err.....pier...

Well done10 brownie points for you , you've spotted my deliberate mistake.....I've corrected the shot and it looks more boring. ;)

Thank you very much! As for the sharpness, I am sure it did not help... though at 110mm the composition wasn't nice as I was ~6km from the subjects. :shake:

Well I find it very difficult to photograph woods, but I like these shots maybe it's because they are not too green. Also photographing a mass of bluebells is a challenge as well erm well the lens was excellent, the film was good enough, so it's only the photographer to blame...but it did look better using my eyes (not film).

These are really, really nice and you got the best out of the ultramax. I am a huge fan of ultramax actually.

Thanks. I know they are not technically perfect and that when using extension tubes you need to stop the lens right down, but there are loads of super sharp, massive DOF in close up flower shots and they are very good. I have been experimenting shooting stuff like this with wide apertures for a little while and really like the effects I am getting.

Its is a cracking shot. Shooting Bluebells is a bit of a mare as every time I have shot them I have ended up with horrible colour casts.

@ Javier still liking your street candid shot of LA life

@ Hisdem I was going to comment earlier, I really like the colours and composition of the balloons over the city it has a surreal quality to the images

Thanks.....well I too like the Ultramax, but the film was the old Kodak "Ultra" and expired in 2006 (must be a difference between old and new, but have no idea what). Anyway plenty of exposure (for Ultra) and watch out for under-exposed shadows in a scene and it's good enough.

Sometimes it's better to take a close up of one flower, than a mass of them.

Thanks

I'm a massive fan of Penn and Mappelthorpe's flowers, its where I go for stylistic and lighting inspiration, mostly in studio though.
Its the same as on location except you spend time taking light away rather than adding it.
Flowers are tough, make no mistake, getting anything that stands out as different is a success.:)

flowers aren't my thing...

Just sharing the last of my latest China roll. Seeing good stuff here these days, keep up the good work

Thank you very much! I tried to shoot the same subject with my DSLR to get another idea of it, but my 18-55mm lens just wouldn't cut it :(
