I shoot Fuji for no particular reason, except that I like their cameras, so in that way I'm supporting them ! :D
But I believe portra and 160s should be the same paleish and creamy.

quick check in flickr tells me imho that the seagull 4a is all good, sharp and rendering nice colours.

so must be the scanner.

p.s. just noticed that you had portra 400 . but that doesn't make much difference though

I like those a lot, it also looks remarkably grain free. I may just get some 400VC instead of Pro 400H.

It looks fine to me, I think the colours have more to do with the scene and the time of day than the film or the scanning. The palm tree leaves actually look pretty punchy, I'd very much doubt you'd get anything like that with NC.

I generally find ISO 400 looks pretty good when it's medium format, especially at these kinds of sizes.

Indeed, I'm not entirely sure what Starastin is expecting Portra to look like. These look like pretty typical Portra shots to me, which is what I was after when I chose that particular film to shoot on.
 
this is the last shot from my fuji 160s pro . unfortunately this was a shot I thought is not going to make it as it was number 13 or 14 on 6x6 camera. loaded it a bid badly which means that what I think was the first shot (which was truly amazing) didn't survive.

Totally love this film !

doesn't feel right on such small size + too sharp I think. other than that - this is pretty much original scan, I only changed the temperature to cooler.

Yes, that,s the 24mm close up effect and I do like it sometimes:thinking: and you have again noticed the harmony of the walk, such pretty young things.;)

Then a Rocket blower over both the scan bed and film before putting it on. ;)

Still requires a little spotting with 20 y.o. slides and negs,* but nothing too dreadful.


* actually some of the newly developed film is just as bad straight out of the envelope.

These were all straight out of the packet! I think I need to use more than my lenspen brush and a lint free wipe!

I have the A-1 + 28mm --- inspired to have a go round Glasgow

Boots slide..?? all i can get locally at Boots is 200 colour print film in C41 process
 
Ta. They were doing 3 for 2 in the branch on Tooley Street that day.

All my film photos are several years old. Still got a B & W film in the Dynax that needs using but I never get round to it. Got several more films that need using up but I never get round to thinking how to use it up properly. Need a project to send it off really.



Think that was taken with the sigma macro/portrait lens. Really good lens. Wasted on me I think!

How about finishing the roll by coming up with something for "The second great F+C Photo Challenge" - it's getting lonely in there with just me and Richard :lol:
