Daily Sarah's 365 31st December 2013 - The End! (CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE ACTUALLY FINISHED!!)

Awww I like the Tree! Always nice to get out for shots whilst its dry!

Stunning Sarah and looks elegant in Mono:thumbs:

beautiful shot Sarah and so good that you got all the epitaph as well - some people (myself included sometimes) forget about that ... great work

Beautiful and elegant monument , great shot Sarah

Thanks Vince, it has to be one of the most elegant memorials around.

What Vince said. Stunning :)

Thanks Toni.

Cheers Trace, needed the mono to take away distraction of the building at the side.

Nice photo, be good to return to this later in the year when the trees have leaves again....and maybe show it in some warm setting sun....

Will certainly do that, could do the lovely new spring leaves and then autumn. My son is in Leicester doing his Masters degree at the moment & did his degree there as well, so we go over all the time. Shame that there is no point in the year when the sun sets behind this, best time looks like early December when to the side, but that is hidden by the town hall.

Oh Sarah, that is wonderful  you've capture it well, "lest we never forget"

Thank you Matt.

Thank you, there is more to the statue, that you can see on the site I linked to, but that is the main inscription.

Roses & teacup

Picked up these miniature roses in Waitrose at the weekend & they look like a very small version of Rosa Mundi, but I've never seen a miniature version before.
Another old teacup picked up from a junk shop for a couple of quid & is a very posh Asprey's art deco cup and saucer, but in sad condition with not much gilding left.

Ooh those roses are gorgeous!! Really great photo, too. I love that wood!

I love the statue, Sarah - I was planning to go back to a local cemetery yesterday but didn't make it. There are some brilliant statues there, so it was great to have you take a good one for me! Maybe next weekend!

Another lovely shot today Sarah, I like the thought you put into the props you use too.

beautiful Sarah

Thank you both.
Matt, can see where you might be coming from with the cup, being black, it's tricky to get perfect so that you can see form, but not too much reflection, or it can look over shiny and reflective, hubby mentioned that :). The flowers on the other hand, I am happy with.

really pretty, I've never seen roses like that before. Love the funky vase, I'd actually like to see more of it

I've seen the full size Rosa Mundi, I've got one in the garden, but I've never seen this miniature version. As for the cup and saucer, it's a bit worse for wear close up :)

Lovely shot Sarah

Thanks Jake.
