Thank you summer, I'm glad you like the interpretation I wasn't too sure what people would think!:) I needed to get a good creative this week and something a bit different!!:)

Very well done - I have done a similar shot and know how the simple ideas can be frustrating but the end result are wonderful - and this is a wonderful shot ;)

Hi Sarah

Small - Really like them, the turbines shot is my fav of the 2, such a great sky really makes them look tiny !!!

The second shot is very well done !!!

Straight - What a fantastic idea, well set up and great execution - LOVE IT

Thank you Dean and Dade!:)

Its all been said above Sarah, and I agree entirely, a wonderfully executed take on the theme. Lovely clean lighting, sharp, colourful, simply perfect. Iain

Straight - great shot and I love the lateral thinking to generate the image

Superb straight shot.

I like it.

Thank you Iain, Robert and Mike,

Iain- I wish it was perfect but the more I look at it the more faults I see - only little ones but they are there!!

I'm hoping to try and have another go this weekend and sort out them out.

:notworthy: Wow. Stunning.:notworthy:

I haven't managed to get the shot/shots that I wanted this week but will still try to get them/it sorted. In the meantime I have these 2 to share with you!

#1
I was cleaning the windows (Yes Peter, I cleaned the windows!!) when I noticed this shadow from a candle holder that George made me in metal work at school!

#2
When I went into school today I checked our history store cupboard for an old typewriter and came across a beast of a typewriter. I managed to get this one of it but struggled with the lack of light and no tripod at school. I have brought it home so might get chance to take some more this week!

Hi Sarah

I'm sooooo envious of your Straight shot....love it love it love it :clap: I'd never have thought of doing that & you've done it perfectly  Thanks for posting the set up as well...I was trying to figure out the "How"...may have to try that one day...cheers for the inspiration

Letter....great out of the box thinking with the shadow ,love the tones & well spotted.
Like the close up of the type writer , looks a really gritty image ,suitable for a thriller cover

Hi Lynne, Thank you and please have a go at the straight shot, I had another go yesterday but couldn't get the base well lit!! I will have another go when I have more time and patience!

The good thing about the 52 is that I've discovered that I enjoy taking creative photos, something I've not really done before!:)

Letter #1 is well thought out. I went to Temple Newsam with a similar idea...looking for a natural Letter. saw a few S and a possible R...then got distracted with infra red photography.

Letter #2 for me. It has a real gothic feel to it...even better Silent Hill feel

Cheers.

Hi Sarah

Letter - 1st one good thinking, and nicely composed, 2nd... doesn't need a re-shoot in my opinion, I think the light & pp is perfect for the theme - Love It

Thanks Dean, I must admit it has started to grow on me a bit, it just wasn't what I had planned!

Thanks Andy, it's a great old typewriter, after a quick search I think its from the 20's or 30's!:) Maybe I can use it again!

#2 is fantastic. Gritty was a word I used when I saw it. The original is even grittier so I think Flickr hasn't done it fully justice. I somehow think this typewriter may well appear in more of your images in the future.

Hi Sarah. Number one is very clever and well spotted, but number two is superb:clap: The only thing I would edit is a tiny spec of something that is catching the light on the bottom edge below the U and the J. Otherwise I think you've got another great shot:thumbs:

Like the typewriter keys Sarah, brings back memories and I think it works very well.

I have memories of typing badly on typewriters and needing a lot of Tippex:bonk:

Isn't it annoying when that happens!

Here's my photo for "contrast". I went out for a trip to the Yorkshire Dales yesterday with Peter and while he was taking a landscape shot I noticed this wire fencing, I liked the contrast between "Old and New".

Contrast, like it. Nice and simple but effective.

What makes it for me, though, is how the two pieces have rubbed together.

Cheers.

beautifully exposed and nice dof and the composition works really well

I like this one. I wondered whether a mono conversion would work but my eye keeps being drawn to the textures and colours in the rusty barbed wire so I don't think it would work as well as your version.

Contrast - super shot, well spotted and perfectly executed, esp DOF.

Thank you Mike and Andy!:):) The two pieces weren't quite as close together when I got there they had a little help!!:suspect::whistling:

Hiya Sarah, nice spot that. Very good indeed, nice and sharp. Like the colour in the rusty wire.

Thank you Michael, Allan and Peter. Just for you Peter I'll have a go at making it black and white tomorrow but it might mean the ironing doesn't get done!!:lol: again!!
