Yes yes, I know it's a "first world problem", but I forgot a pan of rice on the hob until the smell reached me 2 rooms away.
The rice came out easily enough, but the pan now has patches of burned areas inside and I can't for the life of me get them off.
It's a very good quality steel pan with a solid copper bottom.
Anyone have any helpful tips or ideas for restoring said pan to usefulness?

(ps...for those maybe wondering, the rice was to feed custody dog, who has a poorly tummy and is currently on a bland diet of chicken and rice......which I'm pretty sure she prefers to her normal food!)
