Project 52....by Kennysarmy + week 52 Texture

That's a very clever interpretation of the theme, brilliant well done.

Friendship: I love the interpretation and although I'm not a great fan of sepia, I think it works with this shot. I've been trying to work out what is raising questions in other people's minds on this, and I wonder if the crop's a bit too tight, or if people would prefer to see at least a glimpse of the girl's face. Friendship is a two-way thing and the incline of the pony's head is friendly, but we can't see the girl's expression at all.

Anyway, I like it, like the interpretation, and as for the sepia - well just this once if you must. :D

Fresh Start: That's a great idea for a difficult theme. That building looks so sad and forlorn, but somebody is going to take it on and give it a whole new lease of life. Excellent shot. Big thumbs up from me.

Fresh start's a corker - great processing and a great interpretation :) The larger version on Flickr really does look good :)

thanks for the recent kind comments.
the last shot was a merge of 3 photos taken at -2, 0 and +2 exposure compensation. All the shots were hand held and photomatix has done a pretty good job of compensating for my movement between the shots - if it had nt I'd have had to have gone back with the tripod...

I used the painterly preset in photomatix then output a TIFF to photoshop before adding some contrast and reducing the saturation....

I am really pleased at how well it has come out.....

Love that Fresh Start shot Jeff  a great interpretation of a very tough theme. Thanks for the details on the processing to. What's the painterly preset ?

HUGE catchup - I'm sorry...

Exposed: Love the tone of this shot - and all the exposed debris are keeping me interested. Very good take on the theme

Mono: LOVE it. The only thing bugging me is that there is no definition to the tip of your nose, but idea wise it bang on for me.

Season: Sorry but I don't like the composition - everthing looks a bit squished. Level of detail is great though.

Grunge: Really like the PP on this - the style of the shot as well as the subject really fit the theme.

Respect: I like the idea but I think there is a bit too much going on with all five images. I think you could have made a stronger statement with a simpler shot.

Friendship - I'm not sure the sepia quite works either and would be interested to see a mono conversion. I like the sentiment though - and could that pony be more content?!

Fresh Start: From what I've seen so far this is shot of the week for this theme! Brilliant take on the theme and again I love the style to the PP :clap:

I'll try to stay up to date from now on! :bonk:

Respect - Love this, it's so clever and colourful and anti-respect. Great twist on the theme :clap:

Friendship - This definitely grows on you Jeff. There's an obvious closeness there and I like the conversion too  from me

Fresh Start - something I would never have thought of but it does what it says on the tin :clap::clap:

Clever idea this one Jeff...:clap::clap::clap:

Sometime the answer is staring us in the face, I like the sad looking top windows, looks like eyes telling a story of not being loved for many years...

I think this is a fabulous shot and hits the theme well  from me

as sarah says fresh start is brilliant, the colours, the composition everything is fantastic imo :)

Very clever interpretation alright! Wish I thought of this :D

 for the photo

Fresh Start : the thing that makes it for me is the SOLD sign - that really ties the shot and the theme together for me. Good work!

What a great shot!!! How many there ?

Great natural smile and pose, very nice portrait :)

WOW she sure does love a panda!

Great take on the theme - and like John said a really natural portrait. Love the t-shirt too

Oh my, you can't even see the stairs :D. Love it. Great portrait.

Wow... that's a huge amount of Pandaly stuff... Lovely shot Jeff, and a great portrait.

Is that the new 85mm lens getting a work out...? ;)

i like this shot a lot...and bang on theme too. well done

What a lovely natural photo - I absolutely love the big grin on her face! And it's infectious, it's almost impossible to look at that shot without smiling.
 She really likes her pandas doesn't she?

Brilliant composition too
That's a very clever use of the stairs as a staging area for the panda army!

Fun shot : Definitely worthwhile viewing larger and another guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

omg how many pandas..... a great fun shot, one to be proud of!

That is the most Panda's I have seen all week! :)
Cool interpretation of the theme as others have said.

the dof with the raynox is really too small for this type of shot but I don't have a proper macro lens :(

was fun to try this...took over 200 photos....only got four worth putting on my flickr...trying to "make" something that would consistently drip to the same spot was as hard as trying to "click" at the right moment....

I had exactly the same problems as you this week with much the same kit - Raynox 150 and a plastic bottle hanging over a bowl. Getting the drip consistent seemed the most difficult part... until I got to the focusing and timing. I think you've done a good job - it does look a bit soft but it's bang on theme and a tricky shot to pull off ;)

Nice photo! I must try these shots. I'm always very impressed with the results of others when they take them

Well done Jeff... I've tried this and not had any success myself, you've done well.. the DOF is a swine, and even more so to get the aiming so the drop lands in the DOF.

Nice one. I know what you mean about the DoF. I have extension tubes (£6 ones!) so have the same problem.

I've never tried this type of shot - it always looks impossible!

I love the colours, the gentle reflection and the dof. It looks a tad soft on my monitor (or it's my eyes ) But I still like it. :)

Jean

Lazy reply, but jean summed it up for me . well done difficult shot

both passion shots are great good fun pics im sure she will laugh at in years to come :)

Water stunning mate, excellent DoF and colour

I can see how these shots are so much harder to get than first thought, it's a shame it's a little soft but it's still a good shot and I'm sure better than anything I could achieve.

Passion... that's a great shot, well thought out and the lightings spot on...:clap::clap:

Water...again a very good effort...yes the focus is a tad off but if you had a marco lens I'm sure you would have nailed it...

You never seem to go for the easy route and not having all the right gear never stops you trying, so well done...

Passion - I know it's been said already but that's a heck of a lot of pandas :D

But it's a great take on the theme and she looks so happy to be surrounded by them :clap:

Water - this is something I've never tried, and don't think I'm going to either

Yes it's a tad soft but it's a great interpretation of the theme

I like it Jeff, B&W suits the image very well.. and it fits the theme nicely. I feel I'm drawn to the windows in the background behind the hedge though.. possibly because they are lighter ?

How do those trollies manage it

I've got a picture somewhere of one on it's side on the beach not far from here.

Very good interpretation, spot on theme and well converted. Like John said, my eyes are drawn through the picture from the great lead in the path makes, pause at the trolley and then try to make out window details.

It is difficult though, last week I wanted to move geography around a bit to suit my picture but I can't :bang:
