Project 52....by Kennysarmy + week 52 Texture

Very interesting shot.
There's lots to look at and ponder over there.

The first thing that takes my eye is the mugs and what's written on them (I can't quite get the one on the right), then I'm wondering about what the newspaper underneath the plate is all about.

Finally I'm drawn back to the plate. What I first took to be a fairly ordinary plate of food isn't so ordinary on closer inspection - at least I don't think so. It kind of looks like fake "play" food.
That makes me start wondering where this was taken - is it a scaled down model of somewhere?

As I said - lots to look at and think about and all quite intriguing. I really like this.

This feels a bit like 2 photos - and I'm not too sure about it. I think it would look more 'connected' if the mugs were closer to the Dredger's breakfast - perhaps on the table - with dark, strong, steaming tea in them. I thought the food looked like play food, too - especially the mushroom. :)

I love the idea, though. :)

Jean

I think it's a great idea, the lighting has worked beautifully. The mugs lit by electric and the breakfast by natural. I agree, that they feel a little too far apart though.

I disagree with all the comments here. I really really like this! I love the composition, the fact that the Mugs and Plate are at extreme edges of the photo, the way the photo looks like it's not straight... but you can't prove it! It makes it so interesting to look at. I wouldn't change it at all.

You know what, I odly REALLY like this.
The eyes DID get drawn to the mugs, first. But the second I saw tha distant and lonely plate of food, I sorta 'eased down' and I really like the loneliness/isolation/simplicty of the dish. It isn't the normal food shot - and that is what I like about it

 from me!

 from me too

So it was all full-size and not a scaled down model - although I was half right with the food not being real.
Looks like an interesting museum :)

Anyway, it was definitely a  from me.

The fact that I looked again at the food and thought that it looked like "play food" was all part of the appeal and intrigue of the image for me.
It made me question exactly what I was looking at and start looking around for more clues to the scale etc.

What an intriguing photograph. I love it then I hate it. I think I love it for the composition. I think that's spot on, then I hate it for the fake food , but I still keep going back to look at it. It's infuriating

So well done :clap::clap:

I can only apologise for 4 weeks missed - my head mustve been up my arse!

So

Fun: Thats a great portrait and the look on his face says it all :) very nice indeed

Easy: Is great - nice taken and its the look (if thats the word) of the two students whos body language seems to be saying "this is anything but easy" that makes it for me!

Colour: That is a great bird shot: sharp, well composed and I love the bg and that space youve left! :D Superb!

Food; This one, for me, is all about the composition, understated and interesting with lots for the eye to feed on :) Its different and its good :D

I promise to keep up to date from now on:)

I love the food shot, only slight crit would be the bit at the top left should either be in or out of frame, not enough of it in frame for me to instantly recognise it so Its distracting.

Being pick with that though, excellent image that I could see someone buying for use in a mag.

Colour - lovely robin, lovely green BG, just a shame he couldn’t have perched on something more natural but I know that’s not really your fault.

Food - I think this is a fantastic idea and I really like the composition. Eyes straight to mugs, and then whats this?… food that looks a bit odd… fake food?… what’s this all about then??? Intriguing is the word I would use.

That looks like an area just round the corner from me, nicely done i like the colours and tones :D

Very fitting for the theme. The quality of the photo itself and the post processing is excellent. But there's something niggling me, and I can't quite put my finger on it...

:clap::clap::clap:
I'm really liking this one.

There's always something to draw you into the photo in your shots and this one is no exception. I'm trying to identify all the bits of exposed debris around the boats.

Lovely contrast between the texture of the grass and the smooth sand/mud and the processing/tinting really finishes it off beautifully.

The sepia is a good choice and the subject is very good fitting the theme well.

I wish I could see a bit more of the inside of the boats/barges but I don't think Manfrotto do a range of scaffolding yet so thats probably being a bit harsh :D

Nice shot.

Yet another great shot from you and the monoconversion really gives it a sense of age and abandonment.

I think the niggle KG may have is that I'd like to see a bit more space behind the boat on the RHS as it feels a bit 'tight'.

Loads of detail in the larger image and I like how you used the receding tide to expose the debris around the carcass! :)

 that's exactly it. You know me better than I do! I think a little more space behind the boat and possibly even a foot more in front would have sealed the deal for me here.

Still a great photo though, but well spotted Jill!

Sorry for the late reply, I like this, it's a clever interpretation of exposed.

Mmm intersting shot, I think I'll need to come back to it a few times to really make my mind up, but first thoughts are that it's different and I like it. How have you achieved it?

Exposed: Sorry for the late comment - but it's definitely  from me. I agree with Jill - a bit more space would seal the deal, but I still love it - a very evocative image. :)

Mono: Wow - I love this too. Instant, unreserved

For some reason, it reminds me of the technique in art of drawing with dots (can't remember what it's called) but I could see that on a gallery wall any day.

excellent take on the theme. well done

Why is it that every time I think I've commented on all the 52s, there's always one that seems to slip past me?
It seems to have been this one this week - so I'm sorry for missing you out yesterday.

And what a shot to have missed!
It's one of those things that you'll either love or hate. For me - I love it!

It doesn't look like a photo at all but more like a pencil sketch. Very, very clever processing and bang on theme.
I can't really think of anything else to say, other than well done

That's another interesting shot Jeff, fits in well for the theme and in general I like it, but just a bit over processed for my taste...

Marvellous image, and I love the fact it's actually a photo!
I'm going to have a go at one of these myself.
Brilliant take on the theme too! :)

I've decided...... it's superb!

Thanks for the set up info!

Exposed is good, nice interpretation - might have liked a boost in contrast! But good nonetheless!

Mono: Wow - stunning self portrait! Thats excellent the processing wonderful - it has oomph! Great

My first thought was no, don't like it. Fits the theme but, no.

Coming back to take a second look, its really original and looks almost like a sketch.

10 out of 10 for not being boring and for pushing the limits of what makes a photograph.

You made me think about your pic, that can't be a bad thing.

:bang: :bang: :bang: Summer Fruit!
Why couldn't I have thought of that? Now that you've said it I've got so many possible ideas in my head . . . a week too late though!
As you can gather, I love this interpretation of season. Definitely my favourite take on the theme so far

Nice simple shot, great colour and the fruit looks really appetising.
Was this taken as they were growing on the bush? It's got that lovely natural feel about it.

Not as intriguing or exciting as some of your other shots, but there's definitely something about it that I like
