From memory, he killed two people, an accomplice killed the other - although of course technically you are correct, because the murders were a joint endeavour so everyone involved was equally guilty. He killed three people trying to abscond from custody. IMHO you just cannot free people like that.
Agree to a point, but how many people kill 2 people and get 12-15 years? Just because you are a cop is that worse?
Go and protest about it then![]()
It does. The length of time given in a life sentence is the minimum before parole will even be considered. The default is still life, and even if they do get out on parole after the minimum period (and this individual did not) they remain on license for the rest of their natural life. Why does a life sentence not mean life?
He should die in prison. IMHO of course.
So should a lot of other people...many of whom didn't commit murder.
But they won't.
Get over it and move on.![]()
Apathy - the issue of today.
And what victory would be won for society by keeping a 78 year old man in prison? He should die in prison. IMHO of course.

Reducing prison population, saving money, etc: if you don't want to look at it from humanitarian terms as I'm guessing you don't.That he would die there and never see freedom again. IIRC he murdered three people.
What victory can be won for society by freeing a 3 times murderer
I will not spend my life fretting and whining about all the ills of the world.

Why is having an old man die in prison and never seeing freedom again a victory for society, exactly? What do we gain from it as a people other than looking pathetic, embittered, primitive, and retributive.
...............................but you often do my dear![]()
He deliberately killed three people. He deserves all the retrobution our justice system can throw at him. Any humanitarian rights he lost when he deliberately killed 3 people.
Fair enough. Enjoy finding satisfaction in the idea of elderly, frail men dying in prison after serving 48 years. I don't understand that kind of justice but if it gives you a happiness and comfort that you feel you would otherwise miss then you're entitled to your position; no matter how weird and twisted I might find it.He deliberately killed three people. oh snap. And all this from a man who openly advocates murder.

knew it wouldnt be long before we had a double standard..Shooting people who illegally invade our country. Too right. But it's not murder, it's defence of the realm.

You've also said you'd shoot junkies in the head.
Nonces too I believe.

The people he killed are still dead.. so why should he be free and living life the same as if he hadn't done it.. they are still dead.. he should still be in prison.. for me that stands for anyone who murders anyone.. police or not.. there should never be a time where a murderer gets to live a free life...
