Has anybody else noticed that there appears to be a fair few images appearing on these forums, which are probably not original ?

Clues would be lack of quality, lack of motivation, sometimes no explanation as to exactly where images have been taken, or the equipment used...

Any :suspect: comments very welcome..

There have been a few occasions when I've looked at an image and had my doubts as to the authenticity and originality but it's hard to prove and I could be way off the mark. And it's usually because the image is so good so in my case it's probably jealousy :lol:

What sparked this off?

i do sometimes take a photo, get home, process it and think woohoo thats great, then realise its similar to photo X ive seen, it does happen. Sometimes folk will attempt a photo that they've seen, to see if they can do it, or because they like it. People are not always original, thats not how we work, we are designed to copy others, its how you copy that is important!

ahhh are we saying that some folk are posting photos they havent taken??? in that case..proof if you please...
 
Im not sure what the intention behind the start of this thread is.
If youre looking to expose someone as a fraud I dont think this is the way to do it.
I for one do not enjoy cat & mouse type threads. ... Im too familiar with the direction in which they go!

If he has no proof (which it would probably be best to pass on to the admin if he did) then maybe it's time to close this here thread.
 
I've never thought that. But a recent image I put up, didn't look like mine after I'd had a good go at it in photoshop. With Landscape scenes, you could quite easily take the same picture as someone before you. After all, you go to the scene and you just take the picture. What makes the difference, is choosing when to take the picture and how to frame it and so on.
 
You cant post examples surely.

What if it IS someones work, and you have accused them of using someone elses work? I know I would hate to see my name in here :(

Lack of quality - :shrug: The photographer or the photo?

If its the photo - then why would someone pretend they have taken a bad photo?
If its the photographer - then how do you know they are crap if the photo is good?

Lack of motivation - Were you there when he took that photo? How would you know?

Explaination of location - I think the location is IN the photo most of the time, and I don't think what that matters? If i had taken photos of a wedding, would it matter if you know if it's a church in Worcester or Sunderland?

Equipment - Check the EXIF data, i often can't be bothered to list them. Plus, again, who cares.

Dunno - are we talking the same picture exactly or attempts to copy something you've seen on here.

I've been guilty of the latter, seeing something done on here and tried to recreate the technique or a similar shot, but then who hasn't? Look how many shots of poppies are going around at the moment.
