Abandoned by Paul, on Flickr
Spot on with Abandoned Paul nice processing it suits it well
( That looks like a MK1 Hillman Minx ? )
Excellent, even rarerNo, this is a Singer Gazelle, which I didn't know existed until I stumbled upon it yesterday.
Your'll pick it up as you go alongthink It'd be great fun, but I just don't have the knowledge.
Hi Paul, seem to have missed your thread until now
Old - does what it says! Processing and capture spot on for me, although I find the composition slightly unsettling. Not sure if it's lead-in fence so close in on the left, but it's certainly something which grabs you and keeps you looking. I like it.
Metal - not getting the love for the pylons but the chain is bang on again. Good DOF and processing once more.
Captive - really like what you've done with that photo. Dark exposure and processing works really well with that image. Goes to show that less is sometime more (in this case, saturation) - really effective.
Miniature - I do like the arrangement (and well done for trying an even number of things for a change). Lighting is effective, although I'm not a big fan of being able to see the light source behind.
Abandoned - cracking spot to find that old car. Nicely captured and, again, good B&W processing (spotting a theme here!) Well composed - really good take.
Looking forward to more of yours - and occasionally a colour shot![]()
Abandoned is definitely, well, abandoned! Nothing more to say really other than good shot. I wonder what the colour is like though?
What a find! an old Hillman, no sorry Singer, under that rickety shelter with climbers! A candidate for B&W .... I'm not sure.

Abandoned by Paul, on FlickrOh, Abandoned is just so bang on....where did you find it!
Great find, like everything about this, framing, light, exposure, processing the lot![]()
Thanks Ian, funnily enough, as I was framing the head on shot I fully expected it to be the one, but when I got them in lightroom I quickly changed my mind. I think the colour shots show the aging of the car a lot more.Colour shots are far better in my eyes! I like the head on shot particularly.
Predator Selfie by Paul, on Flickr
and as an effect it works pretty well. If I made three changes:"I see you..."
Well done for trying new thingsand as an effect it works pretty well. If I made three changes:
- Less blur might have given a subtler effect
- I really wish you'd got your feet in shot
- It would have been more Predator-like if you'd climbed the tree...
This is like the alien out of Predator. Nicely thought out and like the experimentation. Well done Paul.
