weekly Pads 52 project 2016 - Week 7 Danger(ous) Added

Beautifully haunting! I love the hues you've chosen. Really fits well with the whole image and theme.
 
Very dramatic picture, the detail in the clouds/sky really adds a sense of desolation/depression to the image. I like the way you have caught the light on the entrance. Good processing as well.

I spent a lot of years in Dorset on holiday, and I never even knew that existed!

Hi Paul. Great image - love the colour toning and the lighting, particularly on the front entrance.
 
Nice bit of English history, love the blue tones gives it a cold eerie look.. lovely picture(y).

A prison until 2014, wow, I'd agree with others the cook blue tomes work well as does the dramatic processing. Might be a nice high contrast B&W in there also.

I did think about a B&W, but I do that too often so fancied a change.

Thanks Ian, I had no idea this place existed until I thought of prison's for the theme. But that's why I signed up for the 52, to find inspiration for new subjects in new places. :)

Really like your Captive shot Paul. The building just draws you in, right the way to the back of the shot. I like that you have kept it all in focus and managed to avoid excessive blurring in the foreground all the way to the background. The colours are just right and you've kept a nice lot of detail in the sky.

Very nicely done!
 
Captive imaged really captivated me :LOL: sorry had to say it. Love the processing works well.
 
Love your capture shot - almost looks like an IR capture with the strong blues.
 
metal - I like the chains best and the Pylons a close second

Miniature. Here is my attempt for this week. Haven't had a great deal of time to think about or execute this weeks theme and I know this idea has already been done (I promise I thought of this before I saw your shot Phil). Thanks for looking.

Cool pic - the reflections are really well done and I like the contrasty B&W.
 
Nice use of B&W and the dark lighting to create a moody shot. I struggled with this being miniature too.
Yes you can see it when you look at the bottle tops, as they fade into the background it doesn't jump out at you.

Cool if that's the intention of your shot - making us actually study the shot :) but I think I would have added something else into the shot to give a sense of scale, maybe a whiskey tumbler or somesuch.
 
As above really. Like the contrast, reflection etc. Only crit from me is the direction of the bottles, particularly the Glenfiddich on the left (looks like they just needs turning a fraction to the left) :)

Orb of light is distracting now I've seen it but didn't notice at first look.
 
Hi, nicely lit but just to many reflections for me it messes with my head and they are on a slight angle which is not helping my OCD

Hi All, Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't 100% happy with the shot but couldn't pinpoint why. I did try a couple of things to add perspective but wasn't at all happy with them. I didn't think of using a whisky tumbler though, so may re-shoot this when I get a chance.
 
Miniature - great subject and well taken. Lovely lighting, well converted. I don't know if the reflection is a little to sharp though, it distracts slightly
 
SSssooo wrong to have JD in such small bottles. I prefer things in 3s and read that odds work better.

Great reflections and the B&W works well.

I really like the lighting, contrast and reflections however, I personally feel that it is a little cluttered and would possibly have more impact with just one or two bottles, great detail though :)
 
Got all m favourites in there for Miniature and I love the processing but I would have been tempted to use only 3 bottles as this seems a good number in photography. Also the image seems a little tight at the top of the frame. Maybe shoot it in landscape from a distance and see what effect that has.
 
In agreement with all the above comments ... except I'd prefer colour. :rolleyes:
