Trying out the "dummy focus mode" on the D700, to see if it would pick out an eye, and it did!

Talking of eyes, one eyed cat update, he's doing fine. He spent the night with me Saturday :)

Vicki managed to rip her big toe nail off with the bottom of a door, well, hospital did the final removal bit. Caused massive disruption to an already busy weekend, todays photo was supposed to come from Worcester Music Festival which we didn't get to in the end :(

I really liked the biscuit box being there, not sure why?
It's actually full of cat toys...
 
He was blind in the other eye for a while.
One day Mum saw that it looked like it was infected or ulcerated or something (I never actually saw it).
The vet said they either had to remove the eye (£500) or put him down.

Afterwards the vet said the muscle? ligament? something was twisted, I think that caused the blindness. He actually seems happier now, I think it may have been giving him some grief before the op.

back of the D700 showing "dummy focus mode" the big wide rectangle that needs no user input, it just decides what it thinks you are trying to do and does it for you.
Quite appropriate that there are no images on the camera I thought.

Auto area!! The D90 has it as well, i use it quite a lot actually. If you are a rule of thirds type of tog it works very well for landscapes. :thumbs:
 
Yeah the D80 does it too, but it was a good excuse to take a photo :D

I took her for a redressing today, much easier than the first time as they used some silicone gause on the first redressing that doesn't stick.
Still hurting her though, but it does seem to be getting better.

Glad to hear it, I've ripped a toenail off myself and it is such a painful experience.
