Official Talk Leica thread

Hi, ... (M9 - Summicron 2/35 v4 ; f 4 ; crop ):

(I could have taken sharper bike pics with my SONYs or my NIKONs, but the IQ compromise is the price I pay for using only one camera when going out (or my laziness ... ).)

interesting Bit of news (maybe) - I’ve just seen an advert on YouTube for a new Godox Xpro ii trigger for Leica. I know some think it sacrilege to use flash on an M body, but I for one don’t and I have a few Godox flash units left over from when I was shooting Sony and these should be compatible. I can’t find any details about this trigger anywhere, even on the Godox EU website, but hopefully it will hit the shops soon :)

Posted in the motorbikes thread but since it was shot on a Leica M9 with 35mm Summicron I thought I'd share it here as well. Can't decide which I like better, the B&W siuts the subject better but I like the colours from the M9.

How about a mix.. the greens and background in black and white with the bikes in 'colour'...?
Too much work...?

The camera in your hand, ready to take the picture, is always the best camera in the world.

Panasonic's Leica lensed FX55 came in for more than its fair share of criticism in its time but it did fit in a trouser pocket and it could capture pictures which I found acceptable...

Will the M11 make the M10 redundant?

jokes aside, there's forum talk on the dedicated forum for that brand, that the M10 might be seen as the 'last true' (WTF that means?) digital M before it went all touch-screeny, and mahoosive pixel count

I think personally the M product cycle seems to go

basic M (eg the 9)

Techy (sic) M, eg the 240

Then basic M again (eg the 10)

Then techy M (eg 11) again...

So expect the eventual M12 to be either an IBIS equipped pixel monster with global shutter or basic exposure controls and not much else :D

Now, that is bright! (Panasonic G9 / Leica Vario Elmar 100~400mm)...

(The LEITZ Elmarit performs well, but it is very heavy for its size ... In the 1980s, Japanese camera makers started using plastic for lens and camera bodies.

LEITZ used metal. Size matters, but so does weight. Aus dem Vollen gefräst (milled from the solid(?)) people said in those days and saw this as an indicator of quality ... --- )
