Hi, a de Tomaso ... (M9 - ZEISS Distagon 1,4/35 f 2,8 ; crop) :

(35mm is the FL I take for car meetings if I do not know the location, or if I do not get a press badge. The Distagon is my best 35mm lens, but I do not like using it very much.

I like my compact 35s (Summicron and Summarit) better ... )

Popped up to Birmingham yesterday evening with just the M10-P & 35 ‘cron to see the shenanigans going on in the city centre with the Commonwealth games being in full flow.

Hi, KODAK 32GB class 10 SD card failure. Details here #3963 :

What could one do ?

I listed a few things to do above.

Additionally, I would recommend using a new SD card as soon as troubles start to show. The red light in the lower corner of the display kept on blinking.

I should have switched the camera off then, and replaced the card. But I tried desperately to get the camera working again.

Losing some storage is less than losing 240 new pics, and many more old pics on the card.

I shall keep downloading pics after each shooting, so that destructive overwriting is less damaging.

Of course, I could use one my NIKONsm, having dual card slots, for really important shootings.

But I like using my LEICAs more for vintage car meetings ... ---

Shame to hear about the card...
I have stopped deleting on the fly unless I really have to... mainly due to accidentally deleting all instead of one (doh!)
Then no taking pics until I try a card recover...
Does the newer m11 have dual slot.. I forget.. I dont think it does. guess thats for the m12

Hi, I should stop deleting and checking on site, too.

The M11 has 64GB internal memory, and one card slot. One could write to both.

I never delete anything from the card, only format in camera when I’m finished with the files and they’re safely backed up elsewhere.

A habit I’ve always had almost since I started using digital.

Yes, This is what I shall also do. :)

Cards being cheap nowadays, deleting does not make sense, considering the risks.

Hi, in Mainz/D ... (M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Super Wide-Heliar v3 4,5/15 v3 f 8) :
I see no discolouration on the left and right hand sides... Did you get any/remove it via post processing of the v3 is way better than the v2...?

Hi, it is quite easy: I coded the lens manually using profile #11134 (Elmarit 2,8 21 (non-asph)).

This the best profile for "problem-lenses" with colour-shift.

And then no post-processing is required.

And the full picture for corner-checking ... --- :

(The Super Wide-Heliar is a good lens for city travel, I think ... )

I did like the 15mm wideness.. As to the coding... next time I use it I'll give it a go. I think LR can do that...

Hi, I am using the internal manual coding for the lenses in the camera, not LR. The M10 supports this. I checked the manual ... ---

And you find tips here (posting #3 ff) :

Yes... but the voigtlander didn't have the black and white reading part... I did try with some colour pens... But it fails on some lenses so messed up the lens guess

Hi, manually coding does not mean using a pen and writing stripes on your lens corresponding (hopefully) to a Leica lens profile and using automatic lens detection then,

but manually selecting by pressing buttons after choosing a given Leica lens profile from a list stored in the camera.

I chould show how to do it, but I only have M9s, having different menue lay-outs ... ---

Ah yeah... but then I forget and all lens become 15mm ;) flickr reading the exif hehe...

You can code CV and Zeiss lenses with a permanent marker, then the camera reads them (as Leica lenses)

Hi Adam,

Yeah tried that.. but for some reason sometimes it got it wrong and picked the last lens I manually selected or a random one (11-16-18 which I dont own). so I turned it off again and went back to the trying to remember which lens I used/guess by the processing/image.
