Nikon D800......

Thanks David, to add the borders I use an add on program in Lightroom called mogrify.

Thanks very much, I really like the look so i'l have a google and try and find the program. Can you find it through adobe site or a third party?

Scrap that, I found it and installed it as a plug in and now I have to get used to using it!! thanks very much

Thats good as far as I an recall outer borders add the border on top of the original size and inner borders crop the image by keeping the original size.
for me personally I found the settings I preferred are %long and identical borders clicked. The photos of the dolphins are for example
1st border 0.2%long, colour white, identical borders
2nd border 0.4%long, colour black, identical borders.

Ye, I think I've just got to get used to what % looks like what. It would be nice if you can preview it before you export it. Il just export a few blank photos with different settings and use them as a draft for future photos.

Thought I'd show this image, NO processing whatsoever, SOOC. Taken as a basic jpeg in-camera.
Jpeg file size 5.59MB.

Cheers Gregg, sometimes I wonder why I shoot in both raw/jpg? Looking forward to the 'BSB' racing at Knockhill circuit towards the end of June were the Siggy 150-600mm lens will get its first sports outing.

My last pics on this thread were jpegs, first time I'd tried on the D800 and was pleasantly surprised [emoji3]

A stunner chum, love it.....!

A close photographic friend of mine has 35yrs working in the camera industry and always advises me to shoot only jpg, he can't see much benefits in raw are his personal views.

Does anyone have any advice for printing photos taken on a D800. As I'm soon to be moving to Australia and going to have a blank apartment I'd like to post the odd holiday snap and frame it. I just have no idea the best way to go around doing it.

Does anyone have any advice or good links to the process once a raw file has been processed to the point I'm happy with? I just have no idea of the format setting or anything that I would then need.

Im happy to talk to a print shop once I'm in place but I'd also like to understand the in's & out's and why's before I get it done. Many thanks all

I'm not jealous Peter only been to Knockhill the once but it's a lovely track. I always shoot my Motorsport stuff in JPEG only.

I print mine with the Canon Pixma Pro 100 - I've been very impressed with it. I just export top quality jpegs from LR and print away.
