"Click Whirrrrrrr" if you listen carefully. Sounds like the gyros kicking in. (Normal.)Was using my 70-200 2.8 VRII earlier every time I focus it then make a click is this normal only when VR on
Cloudy is horrible, way too warm in normal scenarios.I've always used AUTO2 but I'm starting to think that cloudy is the way forward. Especially seeing as it's always damn cloudy!!
Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong one (don't have my camera to check) but there's one that just makes everything look yellow it's that warm. Not in my opinion.
Wouldn't you Adam and Eve it, mine's just changed to "being repaired"Mine didn't change for a while, then suddenly it was done and on it's way back. You'll probably get it back by the end of next week.

Thanks Nick, much appreciated mate. The filter and holder have arrived today so going to try and get out when the weather improves to give it a test.
You're welcome. They take a little time to get used too, Lee have two good books on their use. Live view is quite useful for judging where they are in the frame.
Any links to the books?
You've got some stonkin good shots Chris on your Flickr. The one of the F-35 on the runway is awesome, best set I've seen! Something to aspire to next year..

Lovely shotOK, it didn't rain the whole time. This was this morning at 5.20am, 16-35f4. Mussenden Temple is on the cliff top.

Thanks, something I want to do more of in future as it's so much fun, going to try and do an arrival day at RIAT next year as well. Only been to a few airshows before and this was the first with a proper long lens to play with.
Just tried it Andy and it still goes into the trash if I choose delete from disk.Guys I know there been talk about the latest LR update in here about import but that sorted for me.. But today when I deleted photos I always delete from disk it no longer go to trash any you have this issue too?
Sent mine last Wednesday, arrived last Thursday and yesterday afternoon status changed from "awaiting repair" to "repair in progress". I did however have communication before I sent it in saying that I needed it back quickly due to an upcoming event and they said to put a note in with the camera saying this. For those that had there camera repaired/ serviced for the advisory, how was the website tracking for showing when the work was actually being done? I've called twice now over the past few weeks and asked for an update and for the camera to be pushed up the cue so I can get it back before my holiday and was told both time they would push it up and I should have it returned by this friday, but don't tell me anything else..
Its still showing awaiting repair now so unless its done tmr/today(wed) i guess i won't be getting it for friday.
TBH I wouldn't normally do something like this either, plus I usually like to to put my own spin on it but I'm bored without my camera and all I can do is process existing photosLooks pretty cool to me! I can appreciate this shot (and those similar) but funny, I have no aspiration to go try this. Weird how certain stuff floats your boat and other genres, don't.
Go on then, I'm intrigued as to how much processing has gone into this.
As for processing, surprisingly little. Decreased blacks, raised clarity a lot and then used a brush to blacken out the background. Oh and a crop of course. Not sure how minnnt and Matty do it, but that's how I did it TBH I wouldn't normally do something like this either, plus I usually like to to put my own spin on it but I'm bored without my camera and all I can do is process existing photosAs for processing, surprisingly little. Well I've just received notification that mine has now been finished and a new shutter plate has been fitted, so it did only take one day. Not sure what a new shutter plate actually is, whether that is the shutter itself and so my camera is now back to 0 actuations, or whether it is only part of the shutter system?Cheers
I did similar but sent it in about two weeks ago or so and phoned as it didn't seem to be going any faster.. they have now changed it to repair in progress.. so will see if they have it repaired in one day as it will need to be shipped today or tmr for me to get it friday. Be gutted if i don't get it back in time.

There's no mention of them addressing the AF issue, although they have mentioned that it has had a full inspection and had a free full service including a sensor clean as a good will gesture (probably because I complained that last time it went in it came back with a dirty sensor and focus screen) So whether this means that they've looked into the AF issue or not I don't know and will have to ring them later to find out I guess. My guess with them saying it's had a full inspection that they have looked into this, and decided that my camera is within normal limits. I wonder whether they have a remedy for its prejudice against Sigma lenses then

My lenses are fine also IF fine tune can correct them enough in the first place. The problem is the wider the lens the more fine tune it needs, and at f1.4 there's not enough fine tune. For example my f4 lens needs +3, f2.8 lenses need +12, f1.8 needs +18 and +20 isn't enough for f1.4. So if it comes back the same I'll have to send it back in again as I want at least one f1.4 lensI've just had notification mine has been fixed and shipped also. It was also the shutter plate that was replaced and a free service. Got to give it to them getting it done in a few hours... now to see if it comes back working fine.. the AF was spot on before with all my lens after a little af fine tune on most of them. I will spazz if it comes back worse like my d800 did
my sigma 35 was also the only one i had slight issue with.
"Cracking shot Philip, good comp', spot on exposure, lovely light, and some nice reflections.
