@snerkler and @pmac im interested in hearing how you get on and how long it takes. I've decided I'm going to send mine in for the second recall (first isn't required) as I have 6-8 weeks before I next really need it when Autumn starts. Hopefully that will be long enough to get it sorted. Thankfully I'm not going to be camera-less as I've got a d7200. I've 90% made up my mind to let it go but the recall will now delay that as I'm going to keep hold of until the d750 is back.
As I mentioned I sent mine in last Wednesday so it arrived last Thursday. If it hadn't been sent in with a second problem and has to have a second inspection by the technician supervisor/manager then it would have been sent yesterday for delivery today. Some folk have had to wait before they could actually send it in but I had mine pushed through straight away@snerkler and @pmac im interested in hearing how you get on and how long it takes. Not necessarily, some people have had the locking and ERR code and it's not been the shutter, and some people have had a shutter issue causing locking and the ERR code but it's not been one of those affected by the recall. I'd start by checking your serial number against those being recalled and take it from there. If it's not the shutter then is may be covered under warranty anyway depending on when and where you bought it.So tonight was scoping a location when my camera started locking up with the ERR fault code, am I right to believe this is one of the recalls and will have to send off for???![]()

From checking last night my camera isn't affected by the first recall "flare issue" but seems it's affected by the second. Going to strip clean and put new battery in and see if the problem goes if not will have to send in!!!
Then I would suggest that your ERR is to do with the shutter then in which case I'd send it in for the recall. From checking last night my camera isn't affected by the first recall "flare issue" but seems it's affected by the second. My sensor is always getting filthy too, will be interesting to see if it makes any difference with the new shutter. Hopefully mine will come back clean as I 'complained' that it and the focus screen came back dirty last time. The job sheet specifically says it's had a sensor clear, but I won't hold my breathi had this issue on my D750 aswell. i was able to recreate the issue by using a high sutter speed (over 1600th) if the camera had been off for a while. One on occasion i took the lens off when the error occured and the shutter curtain was stuck halfway. I had an incredibly filthy sensor (400+ dots) which i am now assuming from from micro shutter abrasions. Anyway the camera went back for the second recall where they replaced somthing and the camera has been fine since. It took 4.5 weeks from start to finish as the cleaning job was so poor i had to send it back in.
FYI no one i spoke to at nikon gave me an official explanation of the ERR or the stuck shutter.

Mine progressively worsened over time. It usually happens when the camera has been off for a while.

should add that ive put maybe 4k shots through the camera post repair and no ERR and no no new spots so far
Yep, mines on 5k now and it's all good so far.

If it's not too bad then keep shooting. Send it in after you've racked a few more actuations up.
Mine had over 60k actuations before I sent it inIf it's not too bad then keep shooting. Send it in after you've racked a few more actuations up.

New models shouldn't have any issues, the recalls were on the older ones and issues now addressed so they're good straight from the factory now.I'm gonna push the button on a D750 & 24-70 combo from Panamoz tomorrow.
I'm reading about you all having problems and having them sent it for repair.
Are these all for recalls that my more recent model won't experience or does the D750 just have a larger amount of problems compared to others?
Didn't realise that it was still present in cameras as young as that tbh. But as you say, new ones should be fine.Seems mine may have been made around Nov Dec 15 so was in a bad batch so recon newer ones would have been addressed
Smoked Haddock by Tim G, on FlickrDoesn't matter about warranty running out then I take it will the recall always be there?

Nice pic, but I thought we'd told you before to get your lens fixed
Ok, this is at 2.8 before i get complaints again. How do you stop a 14 month old running away on the beach? Put him in a hole....

Iv not been able to replicate the issue, like I said only The ERR and stuck shutter, will check my sensor for spots later on tonight.
That's poor if it's an inherent Nikon faultMines was affected by the 2nd recall so I registered it in mid April for the recall and they sent me the label 3 days ago.
I'm not sure whether to send mine in as I can't replicate the shutter lock, nor does mine have the flare issue, however it has locked up a few times (without ERR code) resulting in having to remove the grip/battery etc in order to get it to switch off/reset.
Every Nikon made post 2012 that I've used has suffered from same lock up at some point which I think is due more to DBS (even with battery displaying ok on LCD) as I read a Thom Hogan article about it which now I can't find.
Thanks. If that's the case then I disagree as I often run my batteries flat and it has no effect on the camera locking upNot sure but would guess at Dead Battery Syndrome

"Cracking" shot Philip, love the expression, good framing, spot on focus & exposure.
George.
One thing to say about this shot Philip, in agreement with Gary "Priceless".
