Nikon D750 & D780

They seem to be throwing the NPU cards around like confetti, even I have one.

Yeah, don't have to do much to qualify, just own a bit of equipment ;) Have to do a bit more to qualify for NPS though.

I had the chance to take some photos of a charity abseil at Hexham Abby. While I was waiting I managed to grab a few pics of the inside, Only had my 50mm f1.8, I need a wider lens lol.Hexton abby 007-Edit.jpg Hexton abby 017-Edit.jpg Hexton abby 028-Edit.jpg Hexton abby 249-Edit.jpg Hexton abby 254-Edit.jpg
.
At the end they asked me if I would like to have a go, so me being me said yes.

Cheers,I've got quite a few I'm happy with!
I was surprised how they came out as I think this was the first time I've photographed anything moving apart from my dog![emoji15]
Is it the VRII 70-200 you have? The D750 in AF-C with the VRII is exceptionally good for sports, very few misses.

Yes it is the VRII,I've had it for a few years and never used it much until recently, now it's rarely off the camera!
I'll post a couple more shots later when I can get on the PC.
I used it for a few Landscape shots up the Lakes earlier in the year!

Happy father's day to all D750 dads here.

My daughter (with a bit of help) made this for breakfast. She did the presentation. Together we have cooked quite a few of Jamie's food revolution recipes.

In the quest to take photos in the most difficult circumstances possible, I think I've finally achieved that aim. Dancing display in complete pitch black (in the circle at least) - couldn't make out the buttons on my camera so just as well I didn't need to use them. Stage was 45 degrees (ish) down and this is cropped in slightly at the full reach of my 300mm. f/2.8 and although only ISO 1250 it needed a further +2EV in LR and heavy shadow recovery (because of the sequins and use of highlight metering). Knocked shutter speed down to 1/250 to get as much light as possible - was a 50:50 call as to whether it would result in a usable photo or not...

And I won't even start on the stage lighting they had: blue, orange, purple strobes :(

And no, she told me afterwards she couldn't see me taking it - just happened to be (luckily) looking in my general direction!

That's impressive focusing at f/1.8. I know from first hand experience of my kids on their trampoline that it's very, VERY difficult to nail focus as they bounce around with that shallow a DOF. Top notch (y) with the sharp eyelashes!

Thanks, after AF fine tune, the lens is spot on with focus. The 85 1.8G does not have have a fast AF, but it did admirably in all shots taken in this series.
