Nikon D750 & D780

You say better Tommy, do you mean just more powerful? What's the build like of them? Could do with a couple of cheap flashes, I have an sb700 but not going to spend £300 on its big brother for the little I do.

Yes it's more powerful then the SB-700 like I said its the equivalent of the SB-910. Build quality is pretty good not just as good as the Nikon's as you would expect but better than the Yongnuo's.

I quite like the idea of a macro lens as it's an area I've never really explored.

Don't limit your ideas to just close-up with it.... it's a great length for all sorts of subjects. That Nikkor is probably one of the sharpest lenses I've ever owned,

(Feeding other's GAS is brilliant :) )

I think Sigma's new stuff is much better with regards to QC.

Maybe i should just save really hard to get thw 58... Meh.
I recently bought a 24-70 for weddings which I love. Going to pair this with a 50 prime on another body. At the minute it's between the sigma art or the Nikon 58......want the 58!

Be interested in your thoughts vs xt1. Congrats on the new arrival.

It's heaver, that for sure...:)

Very first impressions:
-it's heavy
-ISO 6400 is relatively clean and MUCH better than XT1.
-Wifi transfer isn't the best but not too bad
-it's heavy
-the 24-120 is a nice lens
-but it's heavy
-handling wise - struggling to get used to it, I like how you switch on AUTO ISO.
-only dabbled with single point AF but it's quick and this is in light where I need ISO6400+ to make an exposure @f4

:)

Try resizing a 6400 raw to 16mp and compare with the x-trans one. You'll see how clean it really is. :)

And also consider at iso 6400 the Fuji's SS is the same as the d750 at iso 3200. There's a stop difference because of Fuji cheating iso.

Big lenses are heavy, in terms of equivalence the 24-120 is more like 16-80 constant 2.8 on apsc.

AFC is muuuuch better.

I read about the XT1 telling porkies with its ISO. To be fair the 24-120 was never going to stay, since having the XT1 I prefer primes so I'm going that route. So it may be up for sale tomorrow as long as I can find a lens to get me by in the meantime. The 14mm is a bit wide for indoor shots

Yup, get rid. 50 at most high street shops for peanuts to get you by.

I may be in the market for a 24-120.

Weakling.

Get the Siggy 35 with the money you get for the 24-120.

Not what you said to the poor fella you robbed blind in the classifieds. :D

Reserves... WTF are they??? :$

I think you're confused. 35 arts go for more than 50 arts, must be very confused. My 35 isn't from tp ;) do keep up.

Further feeling on the D750:

The detail this thing captures is crazy, and this is with a mid range f4 zoom. I can't wait to put a decent prime in front of it! The other thing I've noticed is, everything turns the opposite way to previous cameras Ive owned, like mounting the lens, zooming etc..

Shot with the 20-140 @ f4 at ISO 2800 IIRC

Fujifilm XT1 by Tim G, on Flickr

The other thing I've noticed is LR handles the files SO much better than the XT1, and I'm not talking about editing the images I'm talking about sorting, importing, loading up etc...

That threw me when I first started using Nikon, but now it seems normal. :)

I've mostly been recording some of the local flooding of late. So technical brilliance hasn't been too critical.

28-300, DXish crops.

Lightroom pano.

Well TNT made a complete balls up of delivering my new lens today. What a bunch of jokers. They said they attempted delivery and quite clearly didn't. They never even came onto our street. Had planned a trip to Wollaton Hall tomorrow but might have to postpone it until i get the new lens. I should go somewhere to try out my 14mm and new tripod head really.

Luckily i have calmed down now so, happy new year everyone, glad to be a part of such a great community that has become of the D750 thread.

I've only had the 6 different cameras this year. Wondering if 2016 could be a '1 camera' year for me... :D

One camera (maybe), but how many lenses will you get through? You should start a review blog ;)
