NickD's 52 for 2026 - Week 13 - The Night Sky.

Yep - nice :)

A bit of sun would have been nice, but there hasn't been much of that around of late. I Iike the bright colours against the grey of the building.

That's an excellent subject Nick. Love the colours.

Ther reflection help to cut the frame and a nice juxtaposition between the urbanization and the wild unkempt trees

That works!

Thanks!
It was a bit of a grabbed shot, but it will do.

I like that. Even though it's a grey day you've caught the detail in the clouds in both the sky and the reflection.

Cheers!
This was the little ZV1. What it will pull out of a scene never ceased to amaze me for it's size.

Yep - nice :)

Thanks!

It was a crap day, I bet it'd be a much better image with nicer skies.

Nice Nick. That’s first the theme perfectly.

Thanks!

It was the little bursts of colour that made me look twice.

Ther reflection help to cut the frame and a nice juxtaposition between the urbanization and the wild unkempt trees

Being there it's even more pronounced. To the right of the frame is the start of a mini nature reserve.

That looks very tidy. Nicely lit and photographed.

I think we may see a few vintage cameras.

Thanks!

I figured that as it was such an obvious choice, I'd better get it in early!

Nice pic of the owd kit Nick :)

That's a beauty

Nice point of view and lovely lighting Nick.

Thanks!
I was trying to have a go at a product type shot.

Nice pic of the owd kit Nick :)

Cheers!
It's a lovely thing to look at.

Nice image and probably going to see a few camera ones this week.

Thanks!
I suspect you're right

That's a beauty

Cheers!
It's a sadly underused beauty. It's lucky if it get's through a couple of rolls a year.

Nicely composed and shot (y)

Thanks!
I went for the angle that showed the most interesting bits.

Remarkably un-marked and un-damaged for a vintage piece of kit !

It's in great condition, hardly a mark on it. The self timer spring has had it, and the case is a bit fusty, but the camera itself looks like new.

Great lighting, looks in amazing condition

Thanks!
Really well put together those old German mechanicals.

Impressively sharp across the frame considering how close. I initially assumed that was focus stacked, but the exif leads me to think not.

Cheers!
It's a single image. I got as close as I could with the 40mm f/2, and cropped some of the BG to bring it closer. It's not the sharpest lens wide open, but at F8 I can't see much to complain about.

That really works, all those clocks and people on the move. What is that man at bottom left saying whilst everyone else rushes by?

Thanks!
I was wondering that. They were chatting for what seemed like ages, and I wanted to wait until they had moved on but I was on my lunch break and had to get back.

Great shot, I suspect a few movement type images this week!

Great shot, that works :)

The movement is really nice, nice pic even better on Flickr

Thanks!
I'd have liked to have gone for a longer exposure, but I was limited a bit by just having the little Sony with me.

Great shot! So good for the theme and a good B&W conversion.

Cheers!
It was a bit too messy in colour.

Great shot, I suspect a few movement type images this week!

Thanks!
I suspect you're right. The other handful of initial ideas I had also involved movement.

Great shot, that works :)

Cheers!
I think more movement would have improved it, but it will do.

Great idea, works well

Thanks!
It's been a while since I've tried anything with a slow shutter speed. It always seems to give interesting results.

Fab shot Nick.

Thats a great shot, looks like some people have all the time in the world while others have to dash about!

Fab shot Nick.

Thanks!

Works really well and I like the fact that you went with a long-exposure

Cheers!
I was lucky in that I had the little Sony with me and I found somewhere to rest it. Canary Wharf security folks can be a little over zealous about cameras.

Cracking image, really nicely done :)

Thanks!

I'd pictured much more movement, but when I got there it was much less busy than I expected, and people seemed more relaxed.
