New Old Digital Challenge - Discussion Thread

Congrats @rpn on your winner in the latest challenge.
Sorry I've not been on the ball with this one though. Please let me have your suggestions for a new theme and I'll get it set up.

Thanks, Lindsay @lindsay I'm sunning  myself in Cyprus just now but will pm you later re. the next theme. (y)

A well deserved win Stan. It must be good 'cos my wife said it's the best.

Cheers Stan, Sorry, bad post on my part, I meant I couldn't find an image for Broken :)

Nice theme choice (y)

Congrats @rpn!

Not sure about broken, might need to be a shoehorn :)

For those who entered the weekly 52 in 2023 this was a theme, so I have a few.

Well done @ajophotog with a great image, just scraping the win. Please let me know your theme ideas when you have time, no rush.
Nice job everyone, and thanks to whoever voted for my entry too!

Alby has provided the new theme, a possibly slightly trickier one to fulfill this time. Get searching for those old digimages (new word for you)

I think I have got a really old one for this, from even before I started using Lightroom - hopefully I can find it...

Well done @Craikeybaby , it was really close between several images this month amongst a strong field, but you topped the voters. Please let me know your next theme ideas when you've recovered from the celebrations!

Thanks. As I was at the Festival of Speed yesterday and missed the poll closing, "Speed" would probably be a good theme.

Am I allowed to enter the topic that I set?

Entries closed last night, poll is now up. Some great entries, well done.

The new theme is up for entries: Connection(s). Good luck trawling the archives!

Looking through some of my old photos I do wonder quite why I changed and upgraded my cameras over the years. My old stuff is better or as good as my newer stuff lol

When we're new to photography we 'see' a lot more stuff because it's all fresh and exciting (and perhaps we're a bit less trying to be 'arty') but after decades one can become jaded and stop looking.

I've been trying to find the pictures I remember making more than 15 years ago with a Samsung S850, but haven't yet managed to locate them.

There again it could just be that the final result from the newer products hasn’t really changed much.

For me, moving from Nikon D610 to Sony A7 the difference is quite big, easily visible above websize pictures.

Congratulations @Donnie and @XenosElaine joint winners this time around. Well done both of you.
Would both of you please like to let me know a new theme, you can either argue it out between yourselves or each send me an idea and I'll choose.

And I voted for @XenosElaine 's shot too

I've not heard anything from @XenosElaine yet. If I don't hear any suggestions from her by later today, I'll go with your suggestion Paul
