Golden Wonder Colours, and ONLY 20p a bag. Looks like Salt and Vinegar are not very popular.

And yet no Sausage and Tomato, my favourite flavour, and that is still around.

I've just snacked on a packet of Monster Munch pickled onion flavour crisps and now I have Monster Munch breath. Why do I do this to myself?

No way, Vom big time :puke:

Gotta be careful what crisps I eat, missus hates stinky smelling crisps  :$
Years ago, when I was driving for a living I worked for a company that made the flavours and colourings for food, ( crisps amoung them)
the smell at around 4am ( shift start) was enough to make you puke!

However the £1 bags of miss shapes / miss weights etc that you could buy from places like Mars or whatever, made it all worth while.
A carrier bag bursting with all sorts of goodies

You are aware that I can read the pre-edits and subsequent edits aren't you ? :p

Of course :angelic:

I remember them days, when I worked in Tesco. I worked in the store room, looking after all those pallet full of Crisp and other insignificant items. You would always get a box of crisps that had broke open

Problem is that after a shift on the production line, the last thing you want to eat is chocolate. Took me years to get a liking for it again after working at Mars. Only ever kept the Spangles from the miss shapes bags, the rest was sold off to friends :)

Many moons ago Walkers made an oven baked 'crisp' thing that was square, they came in Caribean Chicken flavour. What were they? They were the best crisp type snack going.

That was my thinking too, much like I never ever want to clap eye on a tomato ever again after having been a tomato greenhouse farmer for the best part of two decades until the firm I worked for folded up four years ago. Mind you, I never even liked the fruit BEFORE I took on the job.

This explains a great deal.
Did you also make deliveries to (or indeed from) a BACON factory??
Just wonderin' ;)

I don't doubt it for a minute, but as a poor driver with a family to feed £1 "goodie bags" were most welcome :D

PMSL No, it was sweet factories and breweries (with the Malt) mostly.

Two packets of crisp were staggering along the street being the worse for wear after a night out and then a car driver pull up alongside them and said "Do you want a lift home?". One packet says "Naa, you're alright, we're walkers".

Aaaah, the old 'uns are the best 'uns.

:p
Actually it comes in handy when someone accuses someone else of saying something then removing it,
sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't its all about peace-keeping ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. look at the mod and their fancy powers. Blah, blah blah.
Plus of course we can also revert to that version as well :p

I'm glad you spotted the rather obvious "look over here" post :D

Didn't Hedgehog flavour crisps start out on a comedy show or something? I hope it's not just me that remembers them.

I remember hedgehog crisps. Shame it was only a brand, not a flavour.

I remember when the Smiths crisp bags were made of greaseproof paper and has a small blue bag of salt inside. Flavours, colours - non-existant in those days.

Bag of salt.....when I had whatever year that was it was a paper twist of salt. I recall reading that when Smiths wanted to reintroduce what was then called salt 'n shake they found the old twist making machinery had been scrapped, hence the little bag/tear sachet.

Too much of practically anything can kill you!
