Hehe....Tonight was great fun, and this has came out great:clap: I love the way the fisheye really shows just how big the tunnel actually was:thumbs:

Indeed it was great fun mate we will do it again soon :D the FE was perfect for this location :D

Stunning set of images! I love the sparks bouncing off of the ground on day 27.

Thank you :D it's been a great start to the year I'm very pleased with my standard of work so far and am very happy with yesterdays effort myself :D

Love yesterdays! Really want to do some stuff like that at some point!

Thanks wire wool is a lot of fun I can hold heartily recommend having a go at it, it's a really great effect

Matt

That is cool. Im yet to play with wire wool in a tunnel etc. Only done spinning on the beach.
Awesome effect you captured there! :D

Thanks Dave I'm very pleased with it myself, you need to go and find yourself a tunnel  though we were going to do some on the beach a few weeks back and failed miserably due high winds and lack of accelerant :bonk:

Matt

Thats a stunner - well done :)

Thanks John, I'm really pleased with the spin I'll be putting a couple more up in a dedicated thread soon so keep your eye's peeled

Day 28 - Dreaming of a sky without clouds :(

I've mainly been looking at new positions that I could attempt star trails around my local church today, this angle looks like it could prove interesting :D I also thought that I would take the opportunity to try and take out CA in PP I think that I've just about got my head around doing that now :D

I am starting to get a little frustrated now :( I've had this lens for a couple of weeks now and still not had the opportunity to test it in anger at the subject that I mainly brought it for being star trails, I hope we get a clear night soon...

But I'm really looking forward to the first W&WM TP Meet at Broadway Tower tomorrow :woot:

Nice smile in the church lawn Matt... :)

Thanks Kev, I love this church it's the one in my village so it's nice to be able to take some pictures from angles I've never been able to cover before :D I did try the door but it was lock I'm going to see about going inside soon

Matt

Day 29 - Chipping away at the Challenge

Hiya Matt.

Apologies for thy delayed response .... things have been a tad crazy the past few weeks.

However, I have managed a catch up tonight.

OMG ...... your photos just get more and more impressive and my faves have to be 11 and 16!

You definitely have an eye for a fantastic photo ..... however...... I do feel you need to hone your passion and find what it is that most intrigues you as a photographer!

Love your work babes ..... and long may it continue!

Cheers ....

your friend ....

Thanks Dawn, I'm pleased you've been able to call in and have a good look  I have to say I think that it's been the most fantastic start to the year for me photographically

Matt

You've captured some really rich colours there Matt. Beautiful interior shot

Thanks Kev, it was a wonderful church  and I love that I could get as much in as I did with the fisheye :D

Matt

Looks like you're loving this fisheye of yours! Keep up the great work :D

It's a great deal of fun to play with as it always you to get photo's that you just wouldn't get without the FoV that it offers :D

Day 30 - Trials and Tribulations

Back up to Burton Dassett and the Beacon today, I though this evening would yield better results than it did :( but different factors outside my control prevented me getting the very best out of this location...I had hoped for a better sunset this evening and then some wonderful people decided to ride down the hill from the beacon causing all of the sheep away from the top of the hill :(

Been a few days since I last looked at your work Matt.....as always some smart creative shots like the spinning.
I really do like the way you've captured the interior of the church.
I think the church angle you have in mind for star trails may work very well....here's hoping you get clear skies soon!!

Day 27 is incredible Matt, such a good wire spin and I love the purple lighting too.
Nice work!

You enjoying it?

Thanks Adam, the wire wool was such good fun  and it was nice to have a go at some creative lighting style stuff for the first time this year :D

As to enjoying it yeah I'm loving it, but I cannot help but be a little bit concerned as I've had a brilliant start to the year and know I need to maintain this high standard that I've set myself otherwise I'll only be disappointed in myself

Thanks :D I'm really pleased with the wire wool it's came out great :woot: and that church interior was my first time using the FE inside and it works great :D I'm really hoping for a clear night soon

Day 30 is still a good pic Matt, nice and moody, I like it.

Thanks :D I quite like the image myself but you know how it is :D I had in my minds eye what I wanted to see and didn't get the opportunity :(

As always great pictures Matt. Special mention day 30. Great horizon and colours.

Thanks :D I'm just getting today's image finalised :D

Matt

Day 31 - All in a spin

Finally I get my first opportunity to have my first attempt at an 8mm fisheye star trail, it was terribly cold this evening at -5c and with no one to talk to and take my mind off the cold I decided to wimp out, this is just a little half hour trail, but really looking forward to another clear night :D

31/366 (396) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I actually didn't plan on doing a star trail at this location but both the other locations I visited had something going on at them so this was the only location I could do this evening, hopefully we can have a few clear nights :D fingers crossed for Friday

This is made up of 54 x 30 second exposures - f/3.5 - ISO800 stacked in StarStaX

Wow wow and wow ...........I knew you would get that clear night soon cos we have your clouds and rain/snow at the moment:D :D
Just love the way the shot makes me feel like I'm being sucked into a vortex.
Bitterly cold yes but to get a result like that has got to be worth it:thumbs:

Thats cool - I bet it takes a fair bit of patience.

Thanks :D that reaction alone is worth the cold :woot: indeed the cold was worth it and be sure if it's clear tomorrow I'll be out again :D

Thats cool - I bet it takes a fair bit of patience.

Thanks, it takes a fair amount but I've done a decent number of these now so know what to expect, if you want to give it a go I can recommend it as a style :D if you check out my signature there is a guide on how to do these :D

Matt

Haha, the fisheye works a treat!, cant remember Frankton's graveyard looking that big though:thinking:
I know exactly where my potd will be next sat night:D

Well you were the one running round it last time so if anyone is going to remember it should be you :D and indeed I've just realised what you mean and I too know exactly where your referring to :D

Matt

That is actually pretty cool :D

Thanks Dave, I'm hoping that it's going to stay clear tonight and then I can go and do another tonight, it's looking good for it :D

Matt

Just catching up, Matt.
Day 25 and Day 30 are both brilliant.
25 is such a clever idea and it worked really well.
Day 30 screams "English countryside" to me!

Day 32 - Twisting Time

I went out again tonight with the aim of getting a star trail at this church but certain factors conspired against me getting the exact position that I wanted :( but I'm still really pleased with the effect that I've captured :D

Thanks Ben, I'm pleased your still liking what your seeing in this thread

Ooo, now thats even nicer

Thanks John, hopefully it will stay clear this week, though I'm at danger of terminating the challenge due to death  freezing to death that is :help: there will be news reports of a photographer found frozen over a canon 450D in warwickshire :coat:

Matt

Day 33 - Clouds rolling in

I'll admit I missed the sunset this evening :( and based on this photo I have no hope of catching a star trail this evening, so this is the photo for this evening, this is another angle that I've previously not been able to capture before and I'm quite pleased with it
