MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 365 - Completed

295 - Nice! Slightly over done for me, I think. Shame about that darn tree (As usual for churches). Nice effort though, what programme do you use for HDR?

296 - Good effort and great colours. I think it's a good stance for a lady with one leg and two feet ;)

I use a program call Dynamic Photo HDR  it's very hard to use

Hiya Matt, back to reality now! Some great ideas for the pics, really liking the apples, they are great, super colours. A very good first attempt in the studio, this something I have never done myself, I like the angle you used on that pic.

Day 298 - Gold at the end of the rainbow..

The first decent rainbow that I've seen this year when I had my camera to hand

298/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I'm a little annoyed about this as there is a little imperfection in there and I just cannot seem to get them to align correctly, I suspect there may have been a little movement in the rainbow as the rain shifted :(

This is a panoramic image made up of four (triple bracketed) exposures so that's actually 12 different frames

Matt

i would imagine shift in the rain would defo account for movement surely as the colours are produced like the prism effect..

..i did think you meant the ground not being level..i know many a tog expects level horizon... so i looked and thought.. but the ground dips like rolling countryside... AHHHhhh panoramic imperfection... least you tried... and for that you get the golden seal of + for effort ... only 67 to go?

Thanks Kev, I think that the shifting rain is the real issue, I did rush a little I think all images were taken in about 45 seconds and no tripod so I'm impressed with myself for getting it as right as I did  but still doesn't stop me aiming for perfection :bonk:

Indeed only 67 to go for this year :naughty:

Matt

Hi Matt, great rainbow, as you say, a shame about the imperfection, but I still like it.

Thanks Michael, I still like it myself  it's just the perfectionist in me that wants to get it right each and every time  :bang:

Super rainbow!

Matt, suprise suprise I was trying to use your apple picture and do somethign similar myself.

I see you had a 15 sec exposure at f/16, but how long did your light hit the apple for, and from what angle? I had a go but it just looked like I had an off camera flash.

Perhaps my torch was too bright.

I'm please you gave it a go  now I used a small maglight that takes 2x AA's I first positioned the light to the rear for 5-7 seconds then I turned it off and brought the light above the apple for approx. 5 seconds using a sort of circular movement to avoid any pronounced shadows forming from the light above, I hope this helps

Matt

Thanks matt, my little torch is a nine LED thing from Wilko's it's pretty bright!! Could this be an issue as I tried it with it on for 1 second out of 30 and it was like I say, like a flash.

'I first positioned the light to the rear for 5-7 seconds '

To the rear of what? The apple or the camera  ?

Day 299 - This photo has an orange glow...

...Okay so I gave it the glow but it is there :naughty:

Today I wanted to see if I could make any other type of fruit glow in the way that I did with the apple, If I'm honest I don't think that it worked nearly as well as I was hoping :(

Your right the orange is nowhere near as good as the apple :(

Day 300 - Out of the fire and into the frying pan :suspect:

Light painted in a single exposure, I had intended to do a long exposure this evening but this was not what I was expecting it to be :( still I can do that another evening, I just thought that I would have a little fun with this and show just where fried egg sweets really come from, honest :D
