Missing child

In true TP fashion a single post regarding concern for a missing toddler turns into a dispute and nit picking whether something is cctv or video entry system, who is suspect or not...well done guys you did what was expected.
My intent was simply to point out that inaccurate information can lead to inaccurate assumptions. That doesn't mean that a small child's welfare and safety isn’t the most important thing

Thanks for your insinuation that I'm lying about where I live. Maybe I should be like all the ghouls hanging around last night and post a selfie of me at the scene when I get home from work.

I might be wrong but I don't think there was an insinuation that you were lying about where you live. It was a humorous and innocuous comment based on something that Columbo might have said.

Police are investigating the possibility that three-year-old Mikaeel Kular has gone missing following "a criminal act", a senior officer confirmed

Well we will see what happens i hope he is safe.. and i hope the Police can sort this out soon. i have to say all things seems to be up in the air. something just isn't right.. for expamle i think some oen said why the heck if this child was seen yesterday morning why was he not approached or the police informed????

A disgraceful thread. Until the little boy is found it's extremely offensive to be speculating in this way.

My thoughts are with the family and I hope there is a positive conclusion.

I don't see what is disgraceful......it is a mere discussion on a news topic the only difference is that is on a forum among people allover the country and beyond instead works canteen etc......there has been no speculation....... only comment and opinion....

Merely discussing the facts as provided to us by the authorities, media and other information outlets.......is in no way speculative...

Well, i expect there to be foul play. Too many questions guys. Just doesnt add up.

The last police statement said that they believe that there may have been a criminal act...... by the way people note the word "may "

Only thing I thought was that 9pm bedtime a bit late for a 3 year old.

What if one of the other children helped dress him? Could have easily been some daft game of hide and seek or other child's adventure.

I certainly don't see the thread as disgraceful, and I think most people speculate on these kind of matters. We all have our opinions which we are entitled to have. Most people in work today are discussing it as we are on here, and like everybody else who I have spoken to about it, we all pray the little chap is found safe and well and reunited with his family. Unfortunately there have been incidents in recent times involving children going missing, and not having a happy outcome, and peoples minds go back to these events and naturally think the worst.

Scorplus, it was a tongue in cheek remark, hence the smilie. More about where were you at the time.... Obviously not a good joke then.

On re-reading the post you are right I misinterpreted what Byker said and can only apologise to him for my over reaction and my accusation.

I believe everything and I believe nothing. I suspect everyone and I suspect no-one.

Another internet trial, good old TP. No evidence whatsoever, yet lots of speculation. Top drawer stuff guys, well done.

What internet trial? I don't see an accused......what speculation? I only are opinion..... the whole point of the out of focus thread is that we can express thoughts and opinion etc.....

Gee's...can't we have a thread on here of opinions whiteout someone spitting their dummy out!
ok.....my opinion is something doesn't add up, no-one heard anything, now they say the lad was seen, if i saw a little lad wandering the streets i'd call 101!
I hope he's found safe and well and my opinion is not going to hinder the police in their search so if anyone doesn't like it thats fine.....move on and ignore me :)

Ditto!

Since when has it become wrong or "disgraceful" to talk about something that's in the news?

From what I can see no one's pointing fingers, just mulling over the incident based on the evidence that's been presented and giving their own opinions.

It'll in no way shape or form affect the outcome or hamper the police in their investigation so what's the harm?

If you disagree with it being discussed, don't join in.... simples!

TRUE!

In what way?
I thought you were an ex police officer. You really feel the need to ask that question. Shame on you and the OP.

Steve

You missed the bit about it being "entirely possible" he left of his own accord. That doesn't really suit your agenda though does it.

A little harsh dont you think?

Why is it that people are only allowed an opinion when its not about a sensitive subject? If people dont like what is on this thread, dont bloody contribute, but dont feel like any of you have the right to tell us we are wrong for saying what we think.

The problem here is the opinions are border line slander. Basically we gave the OP as well as others suggesting, and pleased don't deny this, that the parents are involved. Perhaps I ought to remind you that these parents have lost their child. Exactly what has happened here of yet no one is certain, despite what some here seem to be insinuating.

I just dont think its wrong for people to air their opinions. Im sure that if its decided that the views on here are too close to the mark, it will get shut down.

Where does it say the mother is detained, I didn't see that on that link? I wouldn't surprise me based on statistics but I'm just wondering where you've seen that reported

It's in the headline on Sky news !
Very sad.

First of all it is awful to hear that a body has been found. RIP wee man

I am sorry to say I have no need to show shame nor has any one else any need to hang their head in shame..... as I previously stated that we are merely discussing a topic that was on the public domain....

The nearest thing to slander on this thread is the that you are insinuating that I and others are suggesting that parents are/were involved in this incident........

Not a trial just a discussion of the facts as presented by the media. Sad to say the thoughts that things didn't quite add up appear to be justified.

Nothing more to say. A really sad end.

No things did not add up, and perhaps I was a little cross when posting previously, but it seems that so many make judgements when not fully aware of the facts. It happens time and time again on here.

The mother has been detained, she has not been charged, not had a trial and not been found guilty yet. So nobody knows the full story.

Can anyone, honestly, say that they believe everything the media presents us with?

Anyway, far more importantly, a young child has lost his life, which at his age is an absolute tragedy.

RIP Mikaeel :(

I suppose it's now a case of letting the police carry out their investigation and establish the facts.
