The canal and the wet cobbles really make this shot, although I too would have tried to capture a little more detail in the building... you could try and get a bit more detail from the RAW image...
Still, it's a nice shot and it fits the theme perfectly
had a look at the original and there isn't a great deal of detail in the building other than the 2 windows on the side.. not sure my PP skills are up to just changing that bit on its own
thanks for comments, not a conventional street shot but I think it fits the theme
Excellent shot. I didn't think getting too much grey sky in would work but you've proved me wrong. It actually adds to the image. Also, i must have missed your chopped image. Love it
I like this, I actually like the lack of detail in the house on the hill, makes it a little more imposing and severe - like the cobbles. Then you go and ruin the ambience by naming the place!
I would have liked to see a bit more detail in the house only because I find my eyes drawn to black part of the image rather than the lovely curve of the canal and the cobbles.
Love this sooo much. Wet cobbles leading you into the picture. Sky is well exsposed and I like the fact there isn't a lot of detail in the buildings, it keeps my attention focused elsewhere - on the path.
Looks like all the Nob End jokes are gone, so I'll leave that one be
Absolutely gorgeous shot
The darkness of the house gives it a sinister, imposing feel. Love the wet cobbles and beautiful sky to set it all off. It just works brilliantly.
you can see the house on the hill on one of the photos on this link.. I think the house was for the 'over seer' of the canal.. or some such person of canal authority!
You've certainly got in quick with 5, I normally dont look at any till I've done mine, you caught me out there Anyways what a quality start you've made
the flower is stunning with not a bit of distraction for the eye. Chopped is great thinking outside the box.Note to self," if I get a cut don,t go to Michelle"
Speed has worked really well, cool reflections.....Mick
thanks all.. its my grandson's beloved lightning.. bit battered so had to do a bit of patching up of scuffs.. off today but rain stopped me venturing outside and busy for the rest of the week so a cop out indoors shot, was quite pleased with it as took me an age to get the lighting right..
