Really like the first one, Sue. Could be a touch sharper, but the metaphor is great.

Not sure about this Sue, i think it would be better without the detail below and just took a crop of the carpet itself. Pity about the other shots the monkey would have been a good one.
Not too sure about this Sue, it looks like a record shot. nice colours and patterns though.
Allan
I think the monkey idea was a clever one, Sue - pity it didn't pass your own quality control!
Phil
Isolation: There's nothing more isolating than being alone in a crowd - and being different, so I think you've captured the idea very imaginatively. I'd chose #1, just because it's one flower in lots of other flowers, whereas the poppy is one flower in grasses.
Quality: I struggled with this, too, and your back story made me laugh. So often I've dismissed Mr JG's suggestions for themes - then ended up using them. :bang: I'd stick with the first option, showing Axeminster, because it's a Quality name in carpeting, and in fact, I think you could have made a good strong image using the wording alone.
I hope you get to reshoot the monkeys, though, that was a great idea.
.. oh - and full marks this week for putting so much effort into a difficult theme.
Jean
with Jean on the Quality image and what a horrible theme that was... The monkey was a great idea, I too hope you manage to get one.
your carpet certainly shouts Axminster even without the name at the bottom. The monkey was very naughty to move just when he did !
Sue it's a nice enough shot but there is just too much to look at and there is no focal point. If you had focused on one area and got some close detail then I think you would have had a much stronger shot.
Allan
Sue I disagree completely with Allan. The rules of composition are only guidelines really and this shot smacks of character and fun. If Allan can't see the focal point is the bloody great load of post boxes he's been drinking.
I love it.
I like the shot & the subject is perfect for the theme. I wonder if a straight-on shot of the left hand group would have made for a stronger shot still?
Phil
Sue, another one here who really likes it although Phil's suggestion sounds like a good approach. Made me smile so can't be bad!
Yep, I'm with Phil on this too - but I do also like the shot as is. You're showing the chap's collection of post boxes - the photo represents that just fine. Job done![]()
I like it too Sue
I like the panorama feel to the image showing the collection.
Bang on theme so can't be bad. A different take on the theme. Well done Iain
I like that very much - great colours and certainly fits the theme.

Certainly a lot going on, I wasn't sure what my eye was casting too. Great colours just unsure what the main focus point is.
No wonder Royal Mail loose post and have a back log.
I love this, Sue. I've had a quick look at your other pics (sorry I haven't had chance to comment on them yet) but this just made me laugh out loud - it's such an outrageous number of Post boxes. It's got humour and energy and they look so inconguous in a garden.
btw - you've also got Posts in the plant supports, the fence and even an extra Post tucked in by the step.
Jean
Sue, it fits the theme perfectly and if anything is coming out on theme overload!
I like it a lot. I may have been tempted to try to take the photo from the side getting the first box in focus and the seeing the others out of focus stretching off into the distance. However, with my photography skills I would probably have completely messed it up.
Well done for this week.
Jenny
Well done Sue... that's a lot of post boxes... bang on theme too. I like it.
Personally, I do wonder what a close up of one of the boxes form the side, with OOF boxes drifting off in both directions would look like (but that's just me).
Great photo Sue - I think you were spoilt for choice there!![]()
