Day 227. Flashy Git Spider.

3822774955_64c6f25934_b.jpg

How lazy am I for quoting myself....:D

Just outside the front door to our appartment is the largest spider I have ever seen. I will try to catch her (apparently the big ones are female) soon. :)

I found that out as well, the males apparently hang around the outer part of the web waiting to be eaten. So much like real life eh??

Once again Jonny, great background bokeh!!!!

Thanks Julian, at f/22 as well. Getting my head around macro DOF a bit.

No spiders on this page.....:suspect:
Quick, stick another one up for Lisa

;)

Sorry Lisa. :D

I must apologise for not being on much the last couple of days (To everyone), a lot has been on my plate. I've definitely got another job sorted, completely different to what I do now. I've just to decide for myself if I stick where I am or buy a 70-200VR with my redundancy money.....I mean, take less money for a different more involved job.

Day 228. A Real Ship!

Nice day spent with Pete and his mum chasing the tall ships. We were told and read on the internet that the Bangor side of the lough was the side they would pass closer. Could have fooled me!! They were a long way off, would have needed at least 600mm on crop to reach them.

We ended our day in Donaghadee, they passed a lot closer. I got to see the Lighthouse!!! (pics to follow)

Love the ship shot - you're right, a proper ship, with sails and everything!

Get the 70-200VR
Get the 70-200VR
Get the 70-200VR
Get the 70-200VR
Get the 70-200VR
Get the 70-200VR

And then post loads of good shots so I can justify to myself to get one!

Since you asked so nicely!! I really really really x1000000 want one. :D

I see what you mean by a real ship!
I'd be looking around for the time machine

Day 229. It's Monday, It's Not A Macro!!

3830316117_26d437bffc_b.jpg

Not a bad day. Lovely weather, got stuck in a leisure centre this morning, had a wee dip in the hot tub, then onto the next job. My job is extremely taxing sometimes.

This is a 11 shot panoramic. I've actually cropped about 2 shots worth off the left hand side, I couldn't get the size down low enough for Flickr without using a very low quality jpeg.

At least it's not another macro filler.

Original cropped file width is over 17000....

Right gotta stop looking now and walk the dogs

Happy walking!! :D

'ere, Jonny! Got any more spider pics? Lisa just PMd me asking me to ask you to post more up! :D

Lovely pano mate, what a beautiful scene.

I might possibly have a macro planned for tomorrow.....;)

That is a BIG landscape :)

I'm getting a big carried away with the panoramic's, even bridge asks you a question, ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO OPEN 11 FILES?? I answered yes!! :D

Day 230. The "Turd Polish"

3834470532_845de3b146_b.jpg

Horrible day in Norn Iron. Work really got in the way of toggin today. I had no opportunity to take any pictures at all, only stopping on the way home when I had a "no rain" spell.

I've went mental on the processing, not sure if I like it. The original is dull, lifeless and crap. A bit like my day!!

Your titles make me

Nice shot, like the pp, cant say it looks mental but then i havent seen the before editing shot! Like how its framed at the sides by the rocks or is it some sort of wall?

What, the big wall looking thing?? Aye, that's a wall!!

Thanks Lisa, it's another derelict church and graveyard. I'm becoming a bit obsessed. :D

Reckon that processing is spot on mate. Would have been great if the cross was nearer and filled the hole, but I guess the original church architect didn't consider the future photo compositions :)

Still a agreat shot, I like :)

Day 231. GRRRRR!!!!

A day that started out good and just got worse. We received the scoring system that they are going to use for the next round of redundancies. It doesn't make good reading. Once again my section has been discriminated against because we specialise in one particular discipline. /Rant off.

Anyway, I bought a rally programme for the Ulster Rally this weekend. There are 6 stages on Saturday that are basically on my doorstep. :D There is a brand new stage around the roads near Slemish. I took a drive tonight and there is a substantial humpbackish bridge. I want to see some airtime please!!!! I have parking agreed with a farmer already!! :)

Fingers crossed for you and work related issues.

Looking forward to a nice car in flight shot this weekend ;)

I'm starting to wish I hadn't bigged it up now!!

If I don't see air, I'm going to set the camera up on the timer and get some air in the van instead.....

Work will still be there, now it's the apply for jobs time, and plan how to spend my redundancy money....
